The fact that the acceptance rate at IIT is less than at Harvard does not mean IIT grads are better - because it only means that India has too few IITs per capita. But it does not tell anything regarding the difficulty of the entrance exam and/or the quality of the people graduating from there. When it comes to objective measures check results from GREs - adjusted on per capita basis, there are many countries who outperform India, taking into account potential cheating (which was a major issue in China during the 2000s). So really, no need to be an IIT grad to figure that out 😄

Citi is not able to attract talents from IITs, I don’t know anyone in citi who is from IITs,
IITs guys are there in Google, Facebook, Amazon , Netflix etc . , earning in millions, Google CEO sundar is from IIT just to give one example.
Some of them also with their own startups.
Why IIT ranking is low globally because one of the criteria is how much an university spend on research and Indians universities has very low budget in Indian currency. So they score low on that.
The state of India's best colleges is summed up by India's Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy, in that they don't foster innovation and the quality of students is poor.

The exams to crack IIT are harder and cheating isn’t rampant in these exams. It’s a fact whether you choose to believe it or not. But IIT isn’t in the top world institutions because they’re lacking in research and innovation. Also, don’t think anyone from IIT would ever work for WITCH contractor companies. WITCH hires literally anyone from any college in India.
I get the hate against hiring Indians for cheap but people from IITs are NOT cheap and literally NONE of this cheap labor at Citi from India is from IIT. They’re from random engineering colleges in India that most people can easily get into. There are ton of these colleges and it’s easy to study engineering in India UNLESS it’s from IITs and few other colleges. Please do your research. It’s hilarious that Americans think the guys replacing you are IITians. They’re desperate engineers from no name colleges
According to world university rankings, the absolute most prestigious university in India is ranked 149th, which is about as good as 151st ranked Ohio State University. In comparison Chile, Argentina and Mexico have universities that rank better than India's crown jewel.

Post ID: @tkp+1s2pv2Bt IIT is Ice, Idli and Tacos.
Idli or idly is a type of savoury rice cake, originating from South India, popular as a breakfast food in Southern India and in Sri Lanka. The cakes are made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented black lentils and rice.
IIT is also Indian Institute of Technology. If you read the OP's post, you'll see the word India written. Reading comprehension and observational skills are necessary skills in the workplace, in the corporate world and Life in general. And yet, people Still wonder why Citi wants to Axe thousands of employees??!! LOL!!!
what does IIT mean ? Illinois institute of technology in chicago ?
OP is incisive and spot on. Outside of the USA, cheating on University exams and entrance Exams (GRE, SAT, GMAT, etc.) is more rampant and acceptable. I'm Not saying there isn't a cheating problem in USA colleges and universities. Cheating is much more prevalent, acceptable and tolerated outside of the USA.
Just Google the Internet and you'll find pictures and articles about how International Universities require their students to wear head gear and hats that hide their peripheral view and vision, much like Horse Blinders, so that the students are NOT tempted to cheat during Exams.
The pictures and articles are mainly about East and West Asian schools, universities and students. There are several articles about how in India, even parents are literally photographed and recorded handing cheat notes and cheat sheets to their children through the windows of the buildings, and even climbing in through the windows. This is reminiscent of the Seinfeld episode when George Costanza waits for and accepts Elaine's correct Exam through a window. So Sad and Pathetic !!! LOL!
