100%. There’s a noticeable “gate keeping” of work processes and information on how to improve processes by my manager. They are making it obvious on who they will protect from the next riff and who the sacrificial lambs are. The @ss kissers are groveling so hard now that it mortifies others who are present in Teams meetings and chat groups. The interactions resemble a cross between Mean Girls and Hunger Games. This is spot on!!!

Me too. Almost 23 years, took a chance on transferring from UHC to Optum a year ago and this is how I got repaid. And my director won’t even allow me the dignity of a discussion. I’m an older worker nearing retirement age. It’s wrong on so many levels. They should be ashamed of themselves.

@j8 same here - I worked the entire 1/1 readiness and got the axe last Friday 1/23. I had a feeling my boss knew since the New Year. Would’ve LOVED to have a month to prepare for this since they clearly knew it was coming for me.

@jq No just one week for each year but 2 weeks for each year would have been wonderful.

To the people who posted below, are you getting 2 weeks for every year of service?

@gv Optum RX Associate director laid off. This is after I worked December 29- January 20th for 1/1 readiness then laid off January 23rd after almost 11 years. Wish leaders were honest. Thing is they only care about themselves

@gv I am so sorry for you. Did you have any warning signs like being added to certain e-mail distribution list or any warning signs? Praying for you all.

@ee I didn't get laid off, and I don't think I'm likely to in the near future. But I'd rather have less uncertainty and more open communication with a company. Is it possible for you to share the name of your company with me in private?

i was in E&I as a supervisor who was laid off as well. been with the company 6 years. it's devastating for me and my family. it seemed to be all supervisors and managers. this is after me asking a few times in the past year if there was any talk on layoffs and repeatedly told no, your job is safe.

@df As a matter of fact they are as well as many other companies. Get yourself on LinkedIn. Also dont expect it to happen overnight but it will happen nothing lasts forever. I know it stings at first i was scared, I cried but now I can look back and see it was a blessing in disguise. Apply for unemployment, take a deep breath and try to enjoy the break.

@c0 UHC has also had their fair share. I was laid off last year after over 25 yrs with the company. But I am in a much better place now. A new better job with more money. So chin up it will be ok.

@c5 There were definitely layoffs with UHC yesterday. E&I, specifically the Family Engagement Center was affected.

There WERE layoffs at UHC yesterday. I don’t know how many. The E & I division lost several supervisors. Mine was laid off and my team is now being transferred to one of the remaining supes.

So the layoffs were with OPTUM not UHC? The layoffs are always with OPTUM nothing new here.
