@104 Thanks so much for this. Yeah, this is pretty accurate for most orgs. ISG support is still getting sc--wed. I know for a fact that I7s there are only around 105K. Then you have the EM/IM/(Former RM) org. Oh boy. They have I7/I8/I9 all doing to same job. The I7s make around that 105K mark while the I8s (former EMC EMs) are making 160K. Then a few I9s (also former EMC) making 195K doing the same work as the I7. Pathetic BS.

SWE i7 texas. Joined in 2019 ~80k, internally moved last year + promoted from an i6 115k to i7 145k. 155k base now.

If you are under 145k as i7, you are under 90% of median (you are out of band). I6 90% of median is ~120k.

If you are out of that band you are extremely hard to promote

Still crickets? Everyone scared you get the boot because the rulers at Dell Technologies can track everyone's IP address that makes a comment on this board?? LMAO. Please post. I know FOR A FACT that if you are an I8 making 130K, your no where near the median.

@th That sight is literally stupid and wrong. Here's one on there: Project Manager
Median $38.5K. LOL! yeah, that's not accurate. There is very little information there & I typed in 4 different titles that do not show up. So, again, I ask all of you super secret Dell employees - POST YOUR LEVEL & POST YOUR SALARY. This is so everyone knows how more ridiculous Dell is at wages being proper.

@td It's a website, literally called levels.fyi where salary information is posted.

@t6 There is no "levels" to check internally. What does this even mean? Just post your level & salary here. It's anonymous.

@qt Thanks for sharing. That's on the extreme high end for sure compaired to other regions. I am I8 in Austin making 158K. Anyone else like to share? It's the only the way to know if you're getting sc--wed or not.

I was I8 in bay area making 250k total. This was 4 years ago. I left due to no promotion for so long. Getting a much bigger paycheck now in my new job

@hz That's the result of dell's namby pamby approach to raises. I'm consistently one of the top 5 performers in the business unit, but still typically only get a 2-3% raise, with a few exceptions. I dont leave because it takes so little time & effort to be in the top 5 performers and I can work on a couple side gigs at the same time.

I'm an i6 that started in 2019 at 80k. I'm now still an i6 and at 110k/year + 5k bonus each year so, 115k?

I have NO idea what an i7 makes though so idk if I'm on the upper end of an i6 or am maybe even in the i7 salary terrority.

FYI, You can easily open a case with HR and they will tell you what your pay band is. I dont know about other pay bands but, they will tell you where you sit in yours.

Don't know the bands but I started as an I6 at $45k in 2015. I'm still an I6, but making $95k

Depends as much on the org as the location. Wide variance from one BU to another for same grade.

@cd there is nothing to post. It's not available on such a generic level.

Yes, the range varies per org. I still want someone who is a Director at Dell to post them on this board. Come on, it's anonymous. No one will ever know you posted it. It's been supper top secret since around 2010 when they stopped posting them in Workday. I have them from 2001 printed out but they are not the same now.

Way too many factors to answer, some bands span over $60k in difference. For example, there are I8s who make more than some I9s.

An I9 in India earns the same as an I6 in Austin.

In the US there are also different salary zones based on cost of living. I think there are four, you can see what yours is in Workday. So an I9 in the NYC or Bay Areas will be in a higher range than an I9 who lives in a low cost area. I’ve never checked other countries but I’m sure it’s similar (I imagine Dublin is different than Cork, London is different than Glasgow, etc)

@ay and managers can only see it during pay planning, which is open a couple of days/year.

Differs from country to country and org to org.

TA are also the only ones who can see all the grades pay ranges (besides HR).

Your manager will be able to see the grade scale for their direct reports but not for them self or anyone who isn’t their report.
