Thread regarding Salesforce.com Inc. layoffs

A new record

Only four days into 2023 before layoffs were announced. This is definitely a new record. I'll be honest with you, I'm utterly confused about why we even need layoffs. How many people do you know who left in the past several months because they wanted better job security? I know plenty. With attrition as it is, we really shouldn't be cutting even more folks.

People just need to make less money... Salaries are insane and stupid. People get confortable. No motivation, no innovation. from real employees. I think directors and managers are just people sitting over there wanting to get bonuses and most of them burining hours across most of the organizations... Sales, pre-sales, marketing, finance, operations, employee success? oh come on... People finding which bingo is better for which week? Hopefully they realized what a real job is.

We should never have gotten to 70K employees, that was madness and no one should be surprised especially after Starboard jumped in head first

It’s awful getting this email first thing in the morning and not knowing who else you are team members with that did or did not get the email. 9+ years here, and that’s what I got. And my entire leadership chain (3 levels up) is gone with no notice, they weren’t even sure who on their team or in their directs did or did not get let go. And trying to connect the dots with other people, it just doesn’t make any sense. I would have expected a little more from the company in terms of communication and management but I understand the need for layoffs. It’s how they handled it that is disappointing.
