Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Layoffs on October 3

Layoffs currently happening in APAC and tomorrow in the US. Engineering and Sales are rumored to be hit relatively hard.

No warn notice has been posted, so looks like below 5% in CA. Good luck.

So sorry to hear this. Good luck to everyone and hope everybody lands on their feet soon. Juniper is a shithole. Glad to be out from here.

Juniper laid me off in May no warning was on my number but new boss wanted to bring in his Palo Alto buddies and my team director wanted me out to snake a big 3M deal I had so he could make up for forecasting another deal that didn't happen and he was behind 5M in commit. Got laid off May 1, paid through next sixty days. No big pay out just base for the sixty days and commissions but only on that which had shipped in the sixty days. So the hundreds of thousands of dollars sitting in backlog that I closed there prior year Juniper gets to not pay me a dime on. Disreputable company. Glad to be gone.

I can confirm that also yesterday EMEA was hit hard yesterday and today too. Significant losses in JPO, both sales and technical. Strategic Alliances was especially affected, seems JNPR is not making a bet on it anymore.

Juniper will add the 60 day notice to the the severance package so they don't have to post a Warn notice. They don't even have lists ready 60 days in advance.

There are ways to skirt the warn act. Consistent with the requirements of the WARN Act, courts allow a discontinuation of work as long as full wages and benefits are protected during the 60-day notice period. So Juniper could lay people off today, provide them a severance for 60 days (or standard 90 days), and provide warning after the fact and still be compliant. Only reason I know this, I had to lay off quite a few people some time ago (due to Covid), and had a labor attorney provide an opinion (I hated having to do this so much I did not sleep for a month). Good to luck to everyone out there and demand your severance! Sellers, demand commissions on bookings if you have not already been paid on them. Salary employees, do not be afraid to ask for more severance and if you feel your position layoff was unjust find a good attorney.

Post ID: @sye+1oUFXmwn I don't think that's federal, only Ca.

According to federal warn act, companies are suppose to give 60 days notice to employees if layoffs include more than 50 people.
