Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Here’s What I Don’t Get

I understand layoffs. They happen, this is a business, yada yada yada. I can read an economic report as easy as anyone.

What I DONT get, is former employees visiting this thread trying to tie us in anxiety knots. Like…seriously? Do you stalk your highschool ex-girlfriend on social media and tell her she’s fat? I sincerely hope y’all’s lives get better. If I am let go, the last thing I’ll wanna do is check this site. To me, that is rock bottom.

On point. DELL is an incredibly toxic business, that burns many people. That's why there are still ex-employees searching here. The people who remain are able to sit in that sewage and toxicity and hold on for dear life.

When you burn people, they will remember - and wait for your downfall. Simple as that.

The reason that ex-DELL employees are fascinated with this site, is because when you get laid off, you are told this is "just business". But at the end of the day, you take it personal, because, someone made a decision to let you go, and not let the person "sitting beside you" go. And, that means, either you are not as good at your job as they are, you don't have as much potential, or most likely, you have not played all of your political cards correctly, and someone likes someone else more than you. So it does feel personal, a bit rejected. And, afterwards, there is some odd sense of comradery with associating with like-minded people who that same thing happened to. Afterall, many times the company makes a mistake with the folks they chose to let go (probably because they didn't understand enough about what they did), so there is the feeling of satisfaction you may feel, hearing about how f$@ked up things are after you left. The best thing moving forward is just to support each other. No one likes the way this feels. And the sense of doom coming can be paralyzing. Best to keep your head down, prepare for worst, and if it happens, focus on your strengths and taking them to another company.

Looking at some of the language here im not really convinced that this post is genuine either to be and looks to be a member of HR or senior managment.
The issue on this forum as I see it is that so much BS is said that its hard to know the real from the fake.
Me personally I work in UK sales area and have heard of people that be will or have left the buisness in the last number of days.
Do I think more will come?Who knows.
I have however noticed management are acting really strange of late which means as I have already said in a previous post they either know or suspect something is coming.
Will it be major layoffs? Who knows.
What gets me is if they know rumours have spread and staff are worried why not just address the rumours and move on?
Wipe the slate clean and move forward in somewhat positive step.
Why all the whispers?

I understand keeping tabs here and offering advice to people who are laid off. BUT definitely not creating or inciting rumors of layoffs. Trolls exist unfortunately in all platforms. I’m curious if McFly or Charlie Brown trolls other company forums on this site. If it’s only Dell, they need a life.
