Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Layoffs

Boeing could get to 20% layoff going back 10-12.. years is very possible. Reality is when's the last time you been on a plane on a trip? and expect that outcome to go Min 2 years and up to 5 years to get back to levels prior covid. Boeing will cut till the lights dim and expect business cases like Carolina and the right work state part of the plan.

@suw+16bZCA7H only for non-union folks do you see age discrimination. In WA state (which is what we are discussing) most if not all technical and shop floor are union. Therefore they have senority rules.

Get your facts straight. Sometimes people are just trying to be helpful. If you don't want to take the advice, don't. It's your life. When there is nothing left in Seattle, you will think back and say, "man, I had some good advice but my tin foil hat kept me from taking it"

Have a good life

You say "old" employees have less layoff worries...and yet...all these complaints about OLD AGE DISCRIMINATION on the news (lawsuit here, lawsuit there, lawsuit for everyone "on the house"). Both no-layoff-worries and so-many-lawsuits contradict each other.

Uhh, I think “old” employees have less layoff worry than “young” employees... you got it a bit backward there pal. Just an older employee giving some advice, to the younger gang that most likely will be headed out the door in the near future. Not quite sure what ulterior motive you might be suggesting....?

LOL. "Old" employees telling "young" employees to leave the company to find better jobs cuz "old" employees care about the "young" employees' futures. Just maybe, there might be some selfish ulterior motives from the "old" employees (i.e. one less "old" person to lay off). Just saying, cuz I've been on BOTH sides (been there, done that). LOL.

If you’re young I’d recommend just getting out of Boeing now. Look outside of the Washington area for work as it’s pretty dry here.

  • speaking of packed, might want to make sure your bags are packed. Boeing’s days are numbered in Washington State.
