Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Deleted posts - any idea why?

I have submitted a post two different times - I was thanking the commenter named mad scientist for their following post:
"I’m going to try it just to see if it helps to
Love more than hate. Today is day 1. Will you join me? Please report back on July 30th"
and saying that I will join them. It has been deleted each time.

I am curious what the mods choose to delete, and why. I have seen people comment about posts being removed, but have not seen consistency as to what posts are removed. For example, o some have noted that their controversial posts were removed, while others have claimed that supportive posts are removed - my post is just another recent example.

The layoff just deleted a massive post about Jw. Hmmm

Obviously there's a big difference between asking for votes and complaining about a particular political dogma being crammed down employees throats at work.

Thank you person who thanked me. I am glad if even one person appreciates loving more than hating. It makes my day.

From the content rules section “Prohibited behavior: asking for votes or engaging in vote manipulation”, which @sog summed up nicely as “no politics”.
That’s fine by me as there are plenty of other places where one can discuss his political views to oblivion, there is no need polluting this place with pointless political rants.
Same goes for the religion talk, I suppose.
I’ve seen some work-related posts with slight political points and plenty of “for God’s sake” staying intact to say the rule doesn’t apply to layoff-related stuff.
Just don’t use this platform for pushing your own political agenda, and your post won’t get nuked.

I looked at the content rules and other links in the footer and didn't see anything about politics or religion being prohibited topics. Can you be more specific about where you saw this? A large part of the problem with TD is the ELT is stacked with politically motivated idealogues and if we can't touch those subjects, that doesn't leave a lot to talk about.

My two cent, you were multiplying the same topic, that’s called spamming. Try posting it within the original thread.

This site is lightly moderated and admins here usually don’t care if your post is controversial or not as long as you follow the site rules listed in the page footer.
They purge posts containing:

  • personal info (names, initials, other identifiable info, addresses), they are ok with you naming c-suits , cause they are already public figures
  • over excessive use of foul language, personal insults, derogatory speech towards individuals or groups
  • discussing politics and religion, race and ethnicities
  • direct advertising

All other things should be fine.
