Thread regarding Disney layoffs

Finally some good news

Disney CEO Bob Iger said there will be a pullback in content spending and creation for the Star Wars and Marvel franchises.

People are tired. Disney forgot how to make original content, it's all about these two properties now. I love Star Wars (not so much Marvel) but enough is enough. It became all about quantity instead of quality. Hopefully, things will improve now.

The problem was never diversity, no matter how much some would like it to be. The problem is trying to tell the same old story over and over again instead of focusing on new ideas.

Not sure how that is good. What else would Disney have? Their movies have lost a lot of money this year. It's not like Pixar is doing all that well.

@sfn+1nAQCUnF the consumer isn't selling out bucks. they're watching youtube instead. that's kind of the problem.

There is no good news that begins with "Disney CEO Bob Iger". So long as he remains (and that is now three MORE years) we will sink deeper and deeper

Says more about the consumer than it does about Disney, that the consumer is willing to shell out bucks for this continuing dreck. It's like the consumer has no imagination ("And then what happened?") and can't just write their own story. Pretty sad!
