Affected employees must have started getting legal help from outside. That's the reason they are trying to convince. Nothing much simple talking, don't worry it's all rumors no more affected or just to say you guys are safe for now the trailer will start again in 2025

Fred is an executive representing Reston which saw major impacts. Most of them worked here for more than a decade together with him from CGE days. If he cannot stop such impacts with the reason being - expensive, he should have been the first one to step down. Not sure how can he show his face after this act to his colleagues at Reston

It could be a lot worse. It could be that non-entity Graulich addressing us all.

Fred. Man, that guy. I guess his ego has grown so large that it has pushed out all memory of what it was like to be an engineer.

It's hard to have any confidence in an executive who can't even settle on a date for the all hands where he's going to deliver the first iteration of the story about why the people who have been going without sleep and family time for the past three years are being kicked to the curb. I've had three sets of meeting requests and retractions already.

@sbh+1s7VtwvZ so it was also heavily used by the invoice capture that's also had it's team recycled for cheap imports. Sap have always lothed the services provided by concur and wanted to transition them to partners, because they are still an on prem company and haven't grocked what cloud software is, a service to solve a business problem, software is just one means to solving it and not what the clients care about.

We all know that this was just a “goal” and that they will “try” and move folks into new roles. Let’s face reality—they are looking to hire folks into lower cost regions with experience, not upskill folks into those roles. This is just a “goal” that was planned to fail—they won’t think twice because they “tried”.

There's pattern - they are getting rid of small locations - London, Atlanta, actually even Reston. Someone should ask why should GDS teams try to transfer their domain knowledge to Brazil / Dallas. Once they do this, they are fired too (probably Q4)

If you are not located in Seattle, expect nothing from Fred all hand on monday : he will give no details on other locations situation ... "check with your local work council"

Some folks of UK lab ppl were working on AI they are fired ... sorry , they are "transformed" .

What kind of bullsh-t explanation he can give ? everything is in the last CK email :

  • small R&D labs will disapear
  • low cost location are prefered to high cost ones

if anybody from UK lab can give is 2 cents ? With Audit Workbench turned off by the end of the year, Concur will silently fire the +1000 guys from malaysia by the end of the year ?

They mentioned initially that 75% of the positions impacted will be moving into new roles and reskilled. What about that statement? No one should trust these executives and SAP any more. Also, 25% more impacts mostly from US and Europe again and expect many more in future..

we should ask him why ppl who actually worked on AI were fired (with reasoning that we are investing more in AI tools like Github Copilot :) ).
Another good question can be why we're hiring L1 (Fred's boss) and L3 (Bill's replacement) in Seattle area - one of the most expensive locations out there. These ppl probably cost more than all ppl we fired.
