Thread regarding Sears layoffs

The Westland Center store in Westland, Michigan is up for sale, it appears.

The Sears in Westland Center in Westland, Michigan is listed for sale. Oh, and its real estate listing shows it as “former” despite still being open and not in a current closing list. Perhaps a new round of closings is coming soon.

Yep, one Sears in metro Detroit, one Sears in metro Grand Rapids, and one Kmart in what the Census Bureau calls metro Battle Creak.

Very few metro areas have more than one Sears anymore.

Wow, I think that's the last store, either Sears or Kmart, in Metro Detroit. Amazing

For someone yawning you sure seem riveted enough to comment on every single article about these. I mean, not every article has to be schadenfreude and yuks at Eddie's failures, failed family relations, and declining net worth, we're here about the layoffs from closing stores too.

This will leave not only metro Detroit without a Sears once the Westland store closes, but the whole state of Michigan will be without Sears once Grandville closes with it.

The listings say "for sale", not "for lease".

It doesn’t look like the building itself is for sale. I’m guessing Fast Eddie opted not to renew the lease when it comes due , and the landlord is looking for a new tenant

Remember when people thought Lambert's genius plan was to use tax losses to offset future profit? Did they not pay attention to his ownership of Sears at all? Man couldn't pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the bottom.

Let's see how long it takes the media to report on this one. A couple of weeks? A couple of months? When Transform goes bankrupt? Never? thelayoff.com scoops the buttbuddy shills again!

When even the liquidators are sending you debt collection letters, it's about time to wave the white flag.
