Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

How do you stay motivated at work while going through Chapter 11??

I want to stay motivated at work, however, I find myself unmotivated and depressed. I know this is a “prepackaged Chapter 11” however still have a gut feeling there will be layoffs and cut backs once the 3 new owners come on board. They might have given us $100 mil plus but that still needs to be recouped. It’s not free money. Even though leadership are trying to sugar coat things. Any thoughts, advise?

My advice is to use your days job searching and applying to jobs whenever you can. Most of you work remotely so you can have your work computer open to appear that you are there, while using your personal computer to do this. Use as much time as you can towards the job hunt. Scrape by on the absolute bear minimum to hit your metrics or whatever you need.

take all your PTO. do it now. use those days to work on your resume if need be. Do not believe anything leadership says. "prepackaged" sounds like BS to me. They will tell you anything now to keep you working. I wouldn't be surprised if it's totally a lie, and layoffs are coming.

Unless you have some nice funds in the bank, your energy is best spent avoiding a gap in employment and pay then it is working for this company. I feel sorry for the students in programs but they'll live. if you are an AC you are better of NOT recruiting anyone to these programs.

What a hypocrite you are! What are you doing on this site? Reading and responding to posters??? Is that work? If you are at 2 U then you must be one of those lazy people you are referring to. If not, then get a life.

At this point, there is nothing you can control but the work you do day to day. What you decide to do with those days is up to you — leadership doesn’t have control over that.
