Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Is the severance per year a ceiling or floor?

Say I worked exactly 5.5 years at citi. Does that count for 5 years severance or 6?

Ya. Read the handbook...if you can find it in the swamp that is the Citi homepage and all.

@hgz+1qHNVZ5r I can’t speak to your exact severance. You’d need to look at the online handbook in the Citi hub for your particular area of the bank. That was just an example of what I’ve seen.

@rpu+1qHNVZ5r So what you’re saying is, as long as your base salary is over $100k you get 12 weeks of severance regardless of the tenure? What if a person only worked 3 years

You would not qualify for an entire year of severance for each year worked. Check the handbook online. It’s typically two weeks for every year worked, with a minimum of 12 weeks if you make over $100k. And it is a full year worked, not half a year. So if you worked 5.5 years, you would qualify for 10 weeks of severance (12 weeks if your salary was over $100k).

  1. Severance is based only on full years of service. Check handbook.
