I’ve been with VMware for many years and I built alot of cool decks and trainings and would like to take some with me but don’t want to get into trouble. Does anyone know legality of savings some VMware material But it’s not customer information

They are company property. Do not take them.
Calm down, you just tagged the wrong commenter.
@rnu+1oRVprjF such a bad piece of advice. I hope you are kidding and didn't steal any files for yourself.
" just download them how will they find out. ---SNIP---. There’s no tracking of a downloaded file. It’s not tagged to some sort on DLP security"
There are logs. But those who can see those logs are under "Business OPS" category. They will be cut down on day-1. So it's safe to assume not all logs/alerts will be traiged. 50/50.
If it's something that is publicly available, such as a YouTube video or published-to-the-public document, don't worry. If it's a slide presentation that says, "VMware Confidential" at the bottom of every slide and you are worried, what you can do to create a sample for your portfolio is edit the presentation some to change names or cover up confidential info: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/writing-samples-top-12-frequently-asked-questions-harrison-barnes/
Just don't download EUC app code. The Smithsonian wants it for an exhibit ;-)
Don’t be such a pu--y just download them how will they find out. It’s your creation. It’s not VMware IP. There’s no tracking of a downloaded file. It’s not tagged to some sort on DLP security.
I took classified docs, it’s ok because Trump did it and he didn’t suffer any consequences.
I stole a paper clip, am I going to jail?
Don't over think it. Save samples of your body of work. Use during your job search. Common practice. Just don't share trade secrets etc. It's normal
just download them no one cares
What made you think it's yours? You were already paid for them.
As part of the contract you sign and acknowledged that any IP you created whilst at VMware, belongs to VMware.
I had a panic moment one day when I realised that my personal Dropbox account synced my whole VMware on-drive, which probably goes against a whole catalogue of infractions.
Never Shift-Del so fast in my life.
Nope, nothing is yours. Not even a paper that can be traced back to vmware is allowed to be kept post seperation.
