Sinking ship. Big leadership problems in Citi!
The correct term is “A Managed Resignation”…………..
I worked at Citi for over 30 years and was let go beginning of this year. When my colleague told people I retired, I told her tell the truth I was let go, and that I saved enough money to not have to work before I retire, and I am great. I even thanked my manager when she laid me off since I got a year severance plus unused vacation days This is all the truth.
Do you really think that people would say they are running as far and fast from the company as they can to the press? Several others were said by management to be leaving for other opportunities but were actually let go. It's called keeping up appearances.
Not a good sign. Jumping ship or being pushed out.
“departing to pursue other opportunities” doesn’t sound like retired or jumping ship. That’s generally the language when pushed.
after being at Citi for 33 years, it may be as simple as retirement for them.
