Does anyone have any pointers on how the transition might play out?

This is only Round 1. Even if you survive, CVX will rank survivors low next year then cut you in round 2. Once CVX people are transitioned into the Guyana and Bakken jobs, then former Hess can be totally laid off. Guyana oversight needs only a dozen people, plus XOM will not take any CVX advice on project management. And certainly will not accept any secondees from CVX. CVX refused many XOM/Shell secondees at Gorgon and then CVX overspent Gorgon by 30 billion. CVX cannot build big projects.

CVX managers will prefer known CVX people vs unknown Hess people. Hess will be "left standing" Plus CVX has no big projects in the pipeline and no chemical company (like XOM and Shell have) to transfer surplus upstream facilities people to.

@qz Many thanks! Could you clarify what’s in scope for wave 2? For example, is it targeting specific functions like Finance or HSE, particular teams or locations, or is it based solely on PSG level across the organization, regardless of role or location?

Wait don't hold your breath - keep on living. CVX is so disorganized right now it will take them forever to transition - they can't even get the two rounds of layoffs done with any grace

Simply put, a lot won’t make the transition. Those that do will be in career atrophy until the chevron salary matches our perceived grade level. So no promotions for a while. Again, there will be very few that make the transition anyway, so best to be actively looking for a new gig, like, yesterday.
