Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

It is a lost cause

People are leaving en masse, everyone is depressed, no one has any motivation.
I have given notice and I already feel a little better, I am here for a few more days.

I wonder what the future holds for this company?
I prefer to watch from a distance than be here and witness the super fast sinking of the ship.

Verizon/Comcast can push on price because of competition .. If all that is needed if you package RDK then many companies can do it and price pressure will be there .. The only way to survive is to innovate have features that other companies don’t have.. CS is not structured for innovative development.

"The problem with the CPE business is the large carriers (Comcast, Cox, etc.) are pushing back very hard on price. "

Verizon tried to make CPE on its own but quickly came back to L-ARRIS because Verizon didn't have the deep/lengthy knowledge and would have to pay too much to acquire it. Comcast just steals everything. If you're deep on their programs, you know...

@qyc+1dKd40wC : shill much bro, DOCSIS is all RDK and y’all do nothing more than a perfunctory check on how things work.
Your wifi is the worst when compared to plume and eero, can’t even get the copy and paste of design right.
The Telco guys that actually worked on improving things were all let go, have fun working with cut rate “engineers” from sweatshops.

The problem with the CPE business is the large carriers (Comcast, Cox, etc.) are pushing back very hard on price. So this results in very thin margins or a slight loss per unit. This has nothing to do with the technology nor its capabilities. It is about the dynamics of the market and price pressures.

Speak for yourself. We in the Broadband CPE group are still hard at work with new modems and DOCSIS 4.0 on the horizon. Myself and most of my co-workers have been around since the early days of ARRIS and are very dedicated to the success of this BU. I don't know one person who doesn't put in the hours working with China and India development teams to make sure this business stays viable. Not only that, most of the Cable providers like to have competition with different modem vendors so they will continue to place the orders. Also, South America is a major untapped market right now for broadband access.

So, other parts of ARRIS/Commscope might have attrition, but broadband CPE has the dedicated employees who have been here years and years and our attrition has traditionally been very low. Even though we are all part of HN, dont lump us in with set-top boxes.

Its pathetic, im intrigued as to how long you could hide out for without anyone noticed. No one seems bothered

Why are you giving notice? You could have just left without telling anyone and continued to get salary.
