I am thankful for HT, MD and Magoo for getting this deal done! I can now take my severance and focus on my primary job.

@ @qns+1pHeL9iE We were visiting my sister in law for Thanksgiving. The Wednesday night before she got a layoff call. I think she was with EDS at the time
The exact day you get laid off won't matter in the overall scheme of things.
Focus on starting over with another company that has future growth potential.
Hock Tan and his Broadcom Software team only know how to trim their balance sheet.
Thanksgiving is a very sensitive time in the US and I believe almost all companies will avoid that particular week to do layoffs but Broadcom is on another level - I would not be surprised they will layoff the DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING. Yikes!!!
It's Thanksgiving in one country... Let me repeat ONE specific country...If it was before a holiday in a different country would you be as upset? Chances are not.

Considering 60% of VMWare employees are in the US, I think taking US holidays into consideration is a fair comment.

This is just another example of how fu---d up this whole thing is. Delay and then when it finally comes, do so RIGHT BEFORE Thanksgiving?! Come on.... They couldn't wait just a few more days? That means 10's of 1000's of people will be at dinner tables with their family knowing they no longer have a job. How amazingly tone-deaf.
