Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

When they bring Pat back, it will be just like when Jobs came back to Apple!

Maybe not the black turtleneck sweater, but who needs that when you can have a stock go for that ride?

If he comes back he should agree to a salary of zero. Show us how loyal and much you love Intel. And fix the mess you made.

This is really quite interesting. The Board owns CxO level hiring and firing decisions. This Board is an industry worst. This is a plausible theory. Grab your popcorn

"Rumor in San Jose is that the board is going to be largely removed and that Pat is leading the activist investor group.

Nothing wrong with Pat that an appropriate board can't tame.

Best CEO since Andy Grove, period."

Intel and Pat are not great, they are Awesome!!!

Why do so many people think that Intel and Pat are great? There is no innovation any more. For the past 20 years it has just been the same process and product cycle over and over again. Intel got hung up on 10nm about a decade ago and has been years behind since. The products are stale and rapidly falling behind the rest of the industry. Any attempts at breaking into new technologies has been a failure. Now people want the guy who has just decimated the company to come back for a third time. Continually trying to recreate the past is a company that has no path to or vision of the future. The company will die as is unless someone with real vision can come in and break the cycle. Hint, it isn't PG.

It is the soul searching moment for Pat. If making a comeback is really for the company that build you and you would walk through the valley of death for it, then do it with no hesitation. If it is just for saving your face and you want to milk the company more, the reality will teach you the hard lesson that you have yet learned with no mercy.

If he really wants to come back and prove his worth, I would give him the chance if this time he takes no salary but stock options which is awarded after INTC is back to 2020 market cap.

I just saw some fab workers in the cafe, dancing in iridescent bunny suits.

This raises 2 questions:

  1. What do they know that others do not?
  2. Are they really using iridescent bunny suits in the fab?

Sour grapes from the payoff losers who can't see that Pat was mostly right.

Most CEOs have hits and misses. What Pat got right is already starting to show up and will be even better in 2025.

Foundry starting to happen, 18A ramping yield, Products on newer TSMC nodes starting to sell and getting good reviews.

Everything Is Awesome!

I agree, just like Bob Swan getting fired for doing a deal with TSMC that is now producing reasonably competitive products, Pat was fired for fixing the technological deficiencies and incentive system, which will pay off over time.

It is only short term thinking dolts that can't see a year or two into the future.

We should bring Pat back so we can fire him again. Worst CEO in Intel history - complete and utter buffoon.

Pat will forever be known as the CEO who was fired twice from Intel. I don’t think he gets a third chance.

@fyp+1w84HvEv. I disagree. BK and MR are the worst, it was them who created the trouble first.

Jobs vs Gelsinger? Really? Not in the same league. An American Icon vs a Joker. A wealth creator vs a wealth destroyer. One who made stuff happen vs one who prayed for stuff to happen.

It is amazing to read the posts by people who just can’t accept that Intel’s situation really is dire. It was just getting worse as each quarter passed with PG. There isn’t going to be any return to former glory. 2025 is going to be bad, 2024 will look like a walk in the park in comparison.

Ditto. How could there possibly Pat supporters still. You realize there is about 15K of our colleagues still without a job this Christmas Eve? Many about to loose their homes. Think about them. I bet their Christmas’s su-ked. All because of the actions of pious pat.
