Wonder how much she's still gonna pocket in "advisory" role through next year. Either way, good riddens. Still haven't forgotten the "shut your mouths and do your job" comment and attitude that forced them to take down the article and hide her for almost a year going into this psr catastrophe.

@qm they created a job for Josh Perks a yr ago, I'd bet he gets the job. Leadership positions at that level has a succession plan.

Thats nice, kind of wind down right at the end of her career. Railroading is tough and she’s been doing it for 37 years! Walking on ballast, breathing in the dust, dirt, and fumes. Riding in filthy locomotives, working thru pink eye outbreaks, spending 12+ hours smelling toilets that havent been drained in several months. Working in yards and terminals avoiding trespassers who are high on narcotics that keep demanding you give them some money, stepping over / on their fe--s, watching them ur----e on the door handles signal uses to enter the cabins. Brushing aside used needles, broken crack / me-h pipes so you can work. Not to mention the grueling schedule, mandatory overtime, working w/ no days off, working when sick, working on holidays, working outside when its hot and cold, and the not having a sleep schedule. She gets to ease out of all that at the end w/ being an advisor. Wait a minute? She never worked in any of those conditions? Well Im sure she will spend her time as an advisor strongly and publicly advocating for EQUALITY that all railroad employees should be treated at work like how she has been treated.

Being the "I can" doesn't seem to be appreciated very much at the railroad. I know of too many managers that were given their position because they could no longer do the job they had. So instead dismissing a person that can't do their original job, gets promoted to a management position where they still can't do the work but now they're in charge of that work. If you're a smart hard-working person, then your future at the railroad is filled uncertainty. If you're a whiney back-stabbing type that can't do much, then your future at the railroad is good. The UP executives wants the management teams that can't do the work anymore or doesn't know how to do the work to be making all of the necessary decisions for the company. The mystery of why the company is running so badly really shouldn't be a mystery to anyone at this point. Either way, Beth leaving is a step in the right direction. She oversaw a lot PSR tricks and was in charge of quite a few furloughs in the system. The company is better without her.

She visited us and afterwards tried to fire a union rep for asking to many questions!!
And honestly couldn’t answer a single one of the questions!

Let’s hope for positive change - during a visit to our yard She said in order to get any sick days during a pandemic we had to give up short term disability benefits for it.
Then soon after that the government had to force them to give us sick days ,

She once said even you dont know how to do something just be an ‘I can’ person and push thru that barrier so you can be given future opportunities. I’d pay good money to watch her lace up a pair of boots fix a locomotive or figure out a malfunctioning crossing successfully and safely w/ that attitude.

I'm kinda surprised she waited this long! The fact that they're not going to name a new company president to fill her spot is even more interesting. She's going to pocket millions in severance, and it's anyone's guess how much she'll get back from the shares that she'll most likely be selling soon. Either way, who really cares. She's one of the people that's been there causing the problems from the start. It was time for her to go anyways. I'm just wondering what's going on now that made her decide to step down. Is this the beginning of the end for little Vena? We shall see!
