Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

The union just doesn't get it

Does anyone in the union realize a strike benefits Boeing right now.

They are unable to deliver aircraft due to parts and faa restrictions. All a strike does is give them a chance to get the parts in, it let's them out of penalties for late deliveries.

Boeing is likely to save so much money from waiving penalties for late deliveries, a 40% raise will look like pocket change.

Boeing is hoping and praying for a strike. And the union is just d-mb enough to give it to them.

The best negotiation tactic would be "give us what we want, or we will accept the first offer and you can deal with angry customers"

The OP is correct. The contracts Boeing has with the airlines gives the airlines the right to claim penalty $ due to late deliveries of planes they ordered.
However, there is an "escape" clause in the contract which let's Boeing off the hook for such late delivery penalty payments. That clause include such that as "act of God" and "union strike", etc.
I know as I dealt with Boeing on such contracts and yes Boeinh mgmt would welcome a strike which is a double win for Boeing in not having to pay wages for strikers and not having to pay penalties to the airlines.

This thread was posted by a person that has maxed out their credit card and is living paycheck to paycheck.
Now they're beginning to realize a choice of going on strike or living life as a scab is becoming a reality.

No, apparently you don't read well.

So I will make it more simple for you.

Union Strikes = Boeing gets healthy
Union Doesn't Strike = Boeing is sc--wed.
