Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

This forum is not representative of Dell employees

People on here need to realize that they do represent the totality of opinions for Dell employees. This forum is just like most social media platforms. They tend to attract a certain common mindset and upvote/downvote reinforces that mindset.

For instance there are numerous comments which seem to contradict or question Tell Dell surveys. Because the survey results often don't align with preconceived notions, the survey results are questioned- if not downright dismissed.

This site can be very valuable, but the inherent bias in it is skewers the 'prevailing wisdom' of Dell Employees. Just something to keep in mind.

You can keep telling yourself that. I know it's hard to cope with that 10y or 20y dell stain on your resume.

Even the internal numbers are dismal.

@a2 Of all the replies to my post, this one is the most representative, and erroneous of how the posters on here do not reflect the majority of Dell employees. Dell is a bonafide leader in the tech industry.

It is absolutely absurd to even suggest that Dell has lost their leadership position to the degree that Cisco and (yikes) Yahoo have. Or to minimize Dell branding to the level of eBay.

The number of upvotes the insipid comment got proves just how deluded a majority of the posters are on this forum.

"I agree, it is sales people and 95% bitter L-EMC"

as evidenced by the downvotes, it apparently hit a nerve and people feel identified lol

“In three years eNPS has dropped from 63 to 48 to 32. That is a 2x decline.”

Whoever posted this is a joke. You’re either 100% out of the loop or your JWC.

I'm not a Dell employee, but I did waste 23 years there. I was unhappier while I was an employee there, so I guess I disagree with your post.

@cv Based on them shedding trained ProSupport in favor of foreign call centers and AI, their enterprise customers aren’t going to like them much longer, either.

I pity any fool who calls in and gets CapGemini.

Go talk to a Dell person. I can bet you that it hasn't been that much fun in the last few years.

"Do most people have a negative view of Dell? Perhaps not"

It's more of a problem that almost no one has a positive view of Dell as an employer.

Many individuals from sales, tech support, marketing, and finance are present. The company seems well-represented with diverse perspectives, though the opinions are negative, which is typical for a layoff-related site.
Do most people have a negative view of Dell? Perhaps not, but they’re not on this site, that’s certain. Here, people discuss matters within their company.

It’s a layoff site. If you are looking for shiny happy opinions of any company on a layoff site, you are fishing in the wrong hole. That’s on you, not the folks posting.

In three years eNPS has dropped from 63 to 48 to 32. That is a 2x decline. Jeffo and MD don't care folks. They look at it as collateral damage as they move towards their vision of modern Dell.

If anything, the fact that this place is (supposedly) anonymous…

Funny you should mention it. Isn’t it interesting how many posts disappear and others never post, same with comments. Happened to me numerous times.

The data backs it up - an eNPS of 32. The numbers don’t lie. Carry on

OP is an HR troll and delusional.

If anything, the fact that this place is (supposedly) anonymous, anything said here about morale and how people feel should ESPECIALLY be taken as truth

Uh, opinions aside, dell is a dwindling company. It shares the same space as yahoo, cisco, ebay.

MD, the ceo, has not been relevant in over 10y.
Your HQ is RR has been gutted. Time when companies expanded, dell contracted.

At best it's "just a job."
