Drop word/s to describe working at Teradata right now. Curious how people who still work there are feeling.

@h6 you are absolutely right that they are not anonymous. After I completed one honestly with comments about my manager’s incompetence and how I receive zero support from the manager, her manager pinged me to talk. She was asking me about my relationship with my manager and if she supported me and I was honest. They were more concerned that my comments made the department look bad more than my manager’s lack of performance. I was told sometimes you have to manage your manager.

@r4 thank you. As you said, I will recover. No more nightmares when I sleep, but I've still got a lot to do. My therapist really helps me.

@q2 very sorry. I believe your mental state will recover more quickly being free than remaining there. Best of luck.

Already got laid off. Trying to repair the damage they did to my mental health...Good luck, you'll need it.

Anybody that participates in that employee survey needs to be very careful how they respond as they say those surveys are anonymous but I don't buy it for one second. My word or feeling would be trepidation.

But according to the AHOD our employee promotor score is only 1 point lower than the industry average! If you believe those numbers.

Once you leave Teradate and work somewhere else you wont believe all the backwards dysfunctional things you put up with. You'll also quickly realize that Teradata is a lead balloon. Its just not possible to be successful with the current BOD and Leadership team.

On a recent survey with just my team we were asked to describe how we felt right now with work and it all mostly revolved around stress, burn out, and uncertainty

@d0 sadly, multiple people have gone out on mental health leave and it seems to have barely moved the needle.

Depressing. Everyday I have to front up to unhappy customers and cop it. Meanwhile SM just throws out buzzwords and a cheesy grin

Teradata is just fine honestly, yeah there's cuts here and there but overall it feels okay. The culture is still very nice here

What would it say if suddenly every employee reached out to the mental health services through the benefits peogram?

I would have been happier to be laid off, with all the stress and uncertainty that comes with that, even given the current job market.
Everyone is just too overworked right now, so things are taking 10x longer to get accomplished than ever before. And rather than recognizing the challenges that are occuring, management is being more critical of delays and when things arent meeting timelines.
Again, rather than recognizing the challenges and trying to streamline processes to remove uneccessary steps and stakeholders, everyone seems afraid to be the one to make the final decision, so they're adding more steps and more stakeholders that delays decisions and adds extra work.
Definitely the most mentally challenging environment I've ever been part of, and my mental health has definitely taken a hit. Needless to say, I'm exploring options to leave.

Good so far, while i am still on project.
But man it feels helpless, no predictability about future, i keep trying to leave but so far haven't been able to crack the job market.
i just hope to leave before i get invited to the RIF meeting. while seems likely when project ends in may.
