Subsurface - Inevitable restructuring?

Wonder when changes will happen given most entities have had some form of restructuring already

BP is done. But I suppose just like a marriage, the partner (BP white lead management teams) is the last to know (admit) it. BP plan looks like they will buy a Corvette, get a hair piece and Viagra and hope to hook up with a hottie like Shell.

When will the chairman clean house at BP? Elliot didn’t really achieve simplicity or efficiency…sell that castrol albatross and start making BP more nimble and effective. A great place to start is subsurface GoA…try an internal BHP type subsurface finder competition…reward $1MM to the team and lay off 10% of the dead wood…any use of flashy corporate speak…fired on the spot.

From what I see, advisors are the only subsurface employees in higher grade levels with the courage to share bad news. F/E/D “business leaders” force their teams to “take a second look” and make results look better. And when individual contributors flag bad news, they get taken off projects.

Chairman will be driven by benchmarking bp vs others. Depends how large the team is.

whats the point of discipline leads or advisors. just plug everyone back into the GoA subsurface managers. Undo reinvent.

Subsurface teams @ bp are Molly coddled and protected as they are personifications of HR and ELT inclusion initiatives to promote & demote based on gender or identified features. Similar to Trading where the teams rate of return is 4% per/anum the subsurface team also has hits and misses. The market needs to be very careful when discovery news is foisted in the media at unusually coincidental times…especially without reserve and recovery estimates…The team need less single, childless cat ladies and needs badly to establish more red teams that challenge and counter the stagnant narratives and workflows. bp could afford to fire 15% percent and basing bonuses on results will be a huge game changer. Invite ELT or Elliot to attend a subsurface offsite review and witness first hand how inefficient and territorial these game players…
