Don't be surprised when DF does the official debut of this product even though deniers think he was ousted from Ford.

He is still part of the team and a resource to leadership.

You mean the CE1 announcement?

It will be glorious. The greatest achievement this company has seen since the last Model T moment.

Doug is, naturally, responsible for this feat of engineering. Consumers everywhere will immediately recognize the superiority of the product, and the world will finally understand what Model e and the Skunkworks team have been building behind the curtain.

Meanwhile, a newly arrived class of interns is working around the clock, frantically prompting the latest LLM to generate an absolutely breathtaking announcement deck. Sources indicate the presentation currently contains 147 slides, 63 strategic pillars, 28 transformative initiatives, and no fewer than 11 references to “reimagining mobility.”

Early reviews suggest the deck may be even more innovative than the vehicle itself.

Questions about pricing, incentives, margins, profitability, battery costs, battery sourcing, charging speed, charging availability, charging standards, range, towing range, cold-weather range, residual values, depreciation, warranty costs, software quality, software updates, manufacturing complexity, supplier readiness, quality launches, recall exposure, dealer adoption, serviceability, repair costs, consumer demand, fleet demand, retail demand, competitive positioning, Chinese competition, market share, interest rates, tariffs, commodity prices, labor costs, factory utilization, inventory levels, regulatory compliance, emissions credits, product timing, feature content, styling, reliability, durability, customer satisfaction, total cost of ownership, and whether anyone actually wants to buy the thing are expected to be addressed in a future deck.

This reads more like a mental health crisis than a conspiracy.

Indeed, I’d love to watch the LLs explain their way through these things to a fresh HR person. That’d be a hoot to watch. The strategy makes little sense and the handling shows people were clearly not telling the whole story. Play by the rules and you have nothing to worry about.

@OP

If your job is a "measurer" meaning someone whose main responsibility is to report on programs and check in on others progress, you've got some sad news coming. If there's anything machines can do, it report on progress. I'd start looking if you're one of these people who doesn't actually do work.

What is OP talking about? The only event coming that DF is responsible for is the upcoming debut and launches of the new Model e mobility products and services which will turn the company around. In the best way. Employees including myself cannot wait!

@OP

We're all waiting. You mean CE1 cancellation or pushback? Anything less isn't even news.

I haven’t had to work for about a decade now. I used to enjoy my job, thought there were some decent people there, and it provided me with a sense of purpose. However, when harassment persists for an extended period and even involves the LL crowd and HR in a game of smear the qu--r, it becomes unbearable. I understand that this is an older manufacturing company, and I’m quite resilient, even accustomed to such situations. I can tolerate comments and jokes, but when they become personal and intentional, they become toxic. If I’m judged solely based on my s-xuality rather than my exceptional performance, so be it. It’s time for me to move on, but I intend to share my experience here with the world.
