Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Hybrid Roles only going forward

Just had confirmation that all new hires (or existing ee's moving to new roles) will have to be within commuting distance to an office. So if you're fully remote due to not being close to a TU office, you're not eligible for any other roles within the entirety of TransUnion. I was wondering how they'd eliminate remote employees. Except Sales and the GCC's of course....Ha. Brilliant.

They are definitely tracking globally using multiple methods. It’s just weather management and HR want to do anything about it.

"Need help! I was impacted from last layoff batch, and my end date is November. I'm fully remote from last few years, will this impact me?"

Why are you asking here? Go ask your manager! TU is being very shady about what you're supposed to do. If you went from remote to hybrid, then you're hybrid until your end date unless your manager and HR person tell you otherwise.

"Wait what? No one from our team is going to office. Are they really tracking who’s going and not? Is everyone here going twice a week to the office?"

Some offices like Chicago are tracking. What they do with that information is a question for Susan M in HR.

"I'm identified as a remote employee. I'm next to an office but not required to go in since my team members are not in my city. Does anyone know if "remote" employees will be impacted by rto related layoff?"

Good grief. Tell us you're in sales without telling us you're in sales.

Question!
Will not going to office be targeted for next month layoffs? Cuz no one from my team are coming to office.

@3jmk+1slObuyK There's no RTO layoff that I'm aware of. They'll just curtail your opportunities within the company by requiring associates to come into an office

What is rto related layoff? Meaning layoffs targeting any remote workers ?

@jxs+1slObuyK It's not being communicated broadly. Our group was posting a role and we were told that all new postings are not eligible to remote, they must be hybrid. You can also see this for yourself when you look at postings on the Hub

Well, you have to submit a formal request to relocate, and HR and your leadership have to sign off with their approval. So they'd simply decline your request, and then you choose what you do next.

I feel very discriminated against. The Hub is filled with nothing but announcements about DEI. I hope TU plans to form a group to help assist the Americans that Cartwright displaced. I'll wait.

Has there been any new emails or communications being sent out recently ?

Or you are mostly referring to the communication from before when remote was being shutdown

I read if you move to a state that doesn't have an office, you'll probably lose your job based on something in the RTO FAQ from October. Is anyone able to comment on this decision? Who tells the employee of their doom? HR? Management? TU closed an office in August or September in a city my spouse's company is relocating. I guess TU is going to fire me.

TU changed its category on LinkedIn from Financial Services to IT Consulting and Services. Really? You’re a credit bureau whose primary focus is to provide services to its clients and adhere to government rules and regulations, not just to focus on software development. The CTO Venkat Achanta, in one article, said,”'We are thinking like a software company and transforming ourselves like a software company.” What a rubbish!

Hmm. Wondering if it could also be construed as discriminatory?
