Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Next week

I start losing 9 hours a week of my free time sitting in traffic again for no reason at all. Gas is $3.25 a gallon, so I have to budget for fuel now (I was hired 5 years ago as a remote employee, so this wasn't originally part of the deal). So less free time, less net pay, a stressful work environment trying to cover for lost team knowledge, job insecurity, a hostile corporate culture, and company morale that's in the toilet. And yet they STILL push the bu-----t "we're better when we're together" narrative. What's not to love?

Simply don't go back in, they made remote exceptions for other BU's because the mass of them refused to go back.

"Customers demand in office support period. Grow up"

Then they also demand we shutter our operations in India? After all, being on another continent ain't exactly 'colocation', is it sparky?

You're lying and you know it.

@pwg A story being repeated many times. Associates leaving right and left because of RTO. btw.. @ets 0/24 customers demand.. customers demand support.. they want to know what has happened to the associates they have relied on for over a decade.. why is Fiserv losing talent. dont bring that cr-p here we know better WE speak to clients.

Late last year, I spoke to a long-term Fiserv employee who was setting up shop at a hoteling desk in our office. He told me that he had been a remote employee for Fiserv for over 10 years, and that this day was his first day ever stepping foot in an office for the company. He was told he had to come back to an office where none of his team members worked, so that he could sit on the phone all day in the office talking to those coworkers instead of talking to them from home. Being in the office offered literally zero benefit to him. In fact, he probably had a more comfortable and productive work setup at his home. Very friendly gentleman, though. I truly feel bad that he was ripped out of a remote role which he had been successfully working for over a decade for no good reason. Such is OFD management.

So am I. Not sure why I need to be in the office to talk on the phone with the same people that I talk to from home. I’ll give it a try for a few months

I am boosted but it is foolish to sit in an office right now. The daily case counts are still high, vaccinated people can still get infected, and the rapid tests give false negatives. I am not getting covid just because our CEO says he's putting my health and safety as a top priority while exposing me to covid for 40 hours a week. That's double speak. The man thinks we are all id--ts.

I agree it's about control and it's an insult to my intelligence when they assert that it's about anything else.

Sadly, Frank continues to destroy the company from the inside out, like a tornado. And he shows no remorse.

Last week I lost my job because they closed my office that I was happy to drive to every day. We all have a sad story to share these days.

I call bu-----t on that. There are no clients demanding we be in an office. They couldn't care less where we are physically located. They DO care that their issues are not getting resolved because we've lost so many people who have in-depth product knowledge. Not one single client gives a sh-t if we work in office, from home, on the beach, or in a barn. It's not about that. It's not about "collaboration". It's about control. That's it, bottom line. And you know it. So do they. We all do, no matter how they try to spin it.

They are only tracking badge swipes. Just do what I do. Drive 5 minutes to the New Jersey office. Badge in. Drive 5 minutes home. Work from home (that I had remodeled to look like I was in the office.)
