LM is a useless VP. Should be gone long time ago.

Then you will see the same positions opened up months later, just trying to get rid of the people that have 6 weeks of vacation, cost more on healthcare, get paid more....it's easier to bring in someone new for less, work them 7 days a week, 12 hours days... Go QCOM!!

@pw
MSIP VP is useless. He is not a right person to lead Qualcomm MSIP. He should go. Q needs a great leader with good synergy and integration skills. He doesn't belong to that category.

MSIP VP should be replaced. No vision and no leadership. He destroys or divides the team for his own benefits.

Absolutely not enough of the bloated management and senior management were cut. Just a waste of time and money.

Only a handful of folks were laid off? Nothing alarming.

@at Mentioning that VP reminded me of the org structure they defined back then. It’s a perfect case study on how a bad structure can spoil both a career and a company’s output.

The contrast in paths is wild: the person originally placed under a Senior Manager is now a Director in IT, while that same Senior Manager is still in the same spot. Why? Because the Senior Manager accepted that "DVC modal" like a "yes-man." Meanwhile, the other person recognized the dysfunction immediately and leveraged their internal connections to move out of that org.

I completely agree with your point—it is a late-stage correction. It just goes to show that in a broken system, those who simply "comply" get stuck, while those who navigate the reality of the structure move ahead

We know the type: the horizontal-vertical VP. This isn't just a layoff; it’s a late-stage correction.

"Almost half of the layoffs — 48% — were senior roles. Nine of those were principal-level positions — including directors and one vice president"
