QCOM is extremely toxic place to work . Hire young people and torture with no pay over time then damage health due excess stress then throw out when nothing left to squeeze out . So don't accept offer if offer is not highly competitive to compensate all the wear and tear they make to employee life.

@10s who was fired?
@10s you can’t call your boss an id--t in front of all the other vp’s and not expect to get your wee wee slapped …
Who complained to HR about toad and got him out?
@yf well, at lest you know what the fu-k you’re talking about
Don’t work over time , just stop going worthless meetings and get some sh-t done , block out your calendar and push back against unrealistic Expectations .
I worked there for decades, the fat piece of sh-t money stealing management has to go, by any means necessary
You are the mules. You carry the them to the top of the mountain... then they ki-l you and eat you.
@pv No, it is excessive at Q. I have worked in other places, but I never experienced the toxicity I did at Q.
I mean, thats all corporate. Where else have you worked?
The noobs are just cannon fodder to protect the ruling class. Hard work simply won't get you anywhere at Q! -- You need to learn how to smooch the right a$s... then "maybe" you can join the ranks of all the protected do-nothings.
The best projects I've worked have been at Qcom but at the same time it's the worst company I've worked at because of the managers. I'm still hope it's successful because I have a lot of stock.
It smells like sweat all the time too.
@at sounds like your newly found research opportunities are funded by the people doing real work, unfortunately they are in minority nowdays and naturally unhappy to fund your PhD. Who can blame them?
People often leave bad managers, not companies, and bad managers can not stay long.
Wrong! Qualcomm is one of the best places to work. I feel that working for Qualcomm is just like doing PhD/postdoc at a university. It is even better that I have my own office and free beverages.
For young people qualcomm is the worst place to go
