Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

COO News

Ever since he got a promotion to Executive Vice President, he has withdrawn. Not as prominent. He looks over the CFO's shoulder constantly. He is under qualified and out of his league. He enjoys slashing revenue on plan pricing and can't seem to make up for it in any additional revenue. By the way, how is that Hedge Fund working out and when is the Firm going to become fully transparent with its performance and holdings ?

@OP i'm sure the hedge fund announcement last year was a freudian slip and it has all been hush hush about it all since that was announced. who knows how much of the $425M from the sale of 320 Park Ave was diverted to this fund and how much was diverted to MOA funds on other platforms to artificially prop up their flows into them.

@w7 since Malaki took over he has done nothing organically to raise revenue. all he does is make decisions to cut revenue on plan pricing. Every cut should be offset by a revenue enhancer. He has done little if anything to stabalize or raise revenue. In fact, his decisions have cost the firm more in lost revenue.

@OP having been around several real COO's over the course of my 35 yr career, Malaki is not a COO. he is the wingman for Rich. Runs interference. Gives it to him straight and unvarnished over the CFO, head of IT, and field ExVPs. He knows nothing about Sales, Service, or real back office operations. Since his promotion to ExVPs, he has reached the pinnacle of his career like a little giddy kid in a candy store.

@n2 behind closed doors, he is referred to as: Meaty Malarkey. A full dose of heavy dense BS. Not a joke.

@pt

Persia? Knowing MOA with all the nepotism and friends he may be a friend of Amir Lear who retired, since Amir is also from Iran.

when are the CFO and COO gonna start earning their keep by demonstrating that they can raise organic revenue not driven by market appreciation/investments ? you can keep cutting your way to profitability without raises prices or revenue. U can't keep cutting plan pricing and absorbing costs w/equally offsets and a plan to raise revenue.
