Layoffs are imminent, to be communicated first 2 weeks of May. Heard directly from leaders in BAU groups as well as revenue generating groups of Citi. If you are planning any big purchases or vacations and have not already booked I would hold off

?? Any news for Banamex Employees?
It's actually true we will be lost our Jobs. They moved for cheaper labor
Surely something happening just now
Just attended calls today where they mentioned exactly this using language such as "right sizing" and "ensuring employees can we work at the same sites for the businesses they support "
You the same person that posted layoffs 2nd week of April? Cool story
Tampa has about 10K employees. 1K would be considered a lot at once. What about other sites. Tampa's not a high cost site like those up north. Which general depts?
Cool story bro - where you all drunk?
Was on a call with some director level folks today and there was discussion of Tampa FL taking a 10% hit in the next two weeks.
Jane laid off the ticket validators, sorry man, you have to punch your own card to leave the train.
Sorta tired of the Citi grind. Trying to get my train ticket punched so that I can exit like Jane advised.
If approached with a package offer, I’d take it.
Please give me a package!!!
Is Belfast impacted?
Tons of people are let go every year across all sectors, financial or otherwise. Look, there’s no way around it. Layoffs suk. Its an immediate disruption of household revenue. So, you just move on. Sometimes more money, sometimes less but you move on. It’s not like after your last paycheck from Citi, you just up and die. Now do I want to be one of the ones let go? No, I would not. Like I said, layoffs suk. You should always work toward a plane “A” and “B” while putting extra cash on the side. Preferably invested in something reasonable with a dividend payout that’s rolled over into more purchases of the fund\stock\etf\mutual fund…whatever your choice is. The point is, is to prepare for a layoff. Assume that it’s going to happen to you, it’s just a matter of time and prepare accordingly. Never ever ever assume that here at Citi or anywhere else, that you are safe and sound. Especially at Citi since the company has a long proud history of regular layoffs. In this measure, there is no equal.
It's impossible to weed out what's true and what's rumored on this site. I would say watching this forum that about a year, 10% of what gets posted actually happens.
To pulldown an organization, just pulldown employee sense of security, confidence and moral. That’s it organization die it self without any effort. May be it’s happening here.
It’s no different than any other time.
First two weeks of May come and go. Layoffs happen with the message of either “more to come” or “it’s completely over with”. Then 4 months or so later another post just like this pops up.
OR
First two weeks of May come and nothing happens. Then 4 months later another post just like this one pops up.
The numbness on this matter has saturated every single employees morale to where no one cares about anything anymore.
i lost interest in it. I just go in and whatever happens, happens. Just do what is required and and carry on. My team doesnt care about the app, even if there are breaking issues. So I just do the required work. If im still there, great, I get a paycheck to do my life outside work. If i get pushed out, then lets see what happens.
Do you know which groups will be impacted?
I am only interested in severance.
