I have it on good authority that 1% of the demoted managers will be demoted with most exempt

@pj+1jt7wnpt9, next thing you’ll be telling us is you’re wife suddenly digs 8n*l.
There are too many middle managers at Dell but this wasn't the way to flatten the org. It didn't flatten the org.
I'm a former director who was moved to an IC as a 10. I was given $200K out of cycle bonus + 300K in RSUs for doing so.
I was demoted and received a payout for accepting it. I am now an "Individual contributor".
Dell uses spans and layers to do demotions. They adjust it from 10-1, 14-1 and now 20-1. This allows them to use their process to demo manager rather than tell them they don't want them in that role. How can a legitimate company really think that a 20 to 1 manager to IC ratio makes sense. The leadership at Dell is so bad. I have no idea how they could possibly survive another couple years.
If I were to venture, I guess Michael is looking at selling and getting out and trying to reduce cost as much as humanly possible for when that happens.
Give it a quarter. The streets will flow with the tears of the newly knighted ICs.
Well good news is after years of laying off ICs, they know the drill. Maybe they will be grateful for demotion instead of a layoff, a choice we never got!
“ I have it on good authority that 1% of the demoted managers will be demoted with most exempt”
What does that sentence even mean?
"I have it on good authority that 1% of the demoted managers will be demoted"
What about the other 99% of the demoted managers? Not demoted?
Of the 4 managers in my business unit 1 was let go and 2 were demoted. A director was demoted to team manager to give us 2 managers for roughly 65 people.
Sorry bub, it's going to be closer to 50% of managers if they need to get the spans over 20 to 1.
I know several already who have been demoted and it's business at normal, not laid off, doing lots of the same work , just not a mgr
They’ll be laid off. Start a pool.
In my org 5 managers were demoted.
Yes but they won't be laid off so it's a win for them
In my org THREE!!!! managers have been demoted. Please stop spreading misinformation. These types of post are not helpful to anyone anymore.
