I read where a couple of people have mentioned about additional stores being announced as closing today. Any news on which ones, or is this not true?

Someone posted Lake Grove, NY, Poughkeepsie, NY, Falls Church, VA, Hickory, NC, and Jacksonville, NC as well. These appear to be the only ones that were listed but no link yet or word anywhere other than this site. Any update on these ones?
Here's a link to Costello's Twitter account. Apparently, he is a real person:

Howard Riefs, the PR flak before this Costello fellow, gave the same canned responses all the time as well. The only real change: Back when Riefs was giving statements, his said eligible associates could apply for open positions at non-liquidating Sears and Kmart stores. Costello just tells people to visit Sears.com and Kmart.com.
Personally I think "Mr. Costello" is a bot
The PR guy had the exact same quote for the Wind Gap closing- except substituting Holyoke for Wind Gap. Likely the same for other closings, as well.
"After careful review"
Is that slang for dartboard?
HOLYOKE – The region’s last Kmart store will close sometime in mid-April.
"After careful review, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close the Kmart store in Holyoke,” said Larry Costello, public relations director for Transform Holdco LLC, the parent company which owns Kmart and Sears. “We encourage customers to continue shopping on Kmart.com for all their product needs.”
The Kmart at 2203 Northampton St. is located in a strip mall at the intersection of Whiting Farms Road.
Livonia? I figured that would be absolutely the last store in Michigan to close.
West Long Branch, NJ Kmart is confirmed:

USA Today considers Greenville, SC to be confirmed, although they do not link to any other news source for this one:

@rit, adding to that unofficial list
Kmart - Redwood City, CA
Sears -
Augusta, GA*
Coral Springs, FL
Orange Park, FL
Falls Church, VA
Poughkeepsie, NY
Hickory, NC
Jacksonville, NC
What is so special about Hamilton, MT, Minot, ND and Marshall, MI (Kmart) that they're holding onto them? Aside from Minneapolis (ie infamous "Lake Street"), those are the only ones left in between the coasts.
Unofficial list, from here and other sources. May not be exhaustive, and I’m not gonna mess with providing LINKS LINKS LINKS for every one. I’ll indicate if I have seen an external source or job posting directly and explicitly confirming that the store is closing with an asterisk following a city name.

Some of the above stores have job postings for “part-time” or even “seasonal part-time” positions but if the positions didn’t explicitly say the store was closing I didn’t count it as confirmed (unless there was some other confirmation somewhere).
Sure.
"Orderly" as opposed to putting everyone on the street at once.
I've been through those and they attract much more bad press.
This is targeted, ongoing, shutdowns spread out across the country.
It's not good of course. Arguably, it's more insidious since it can give people hopewhere none is warranted.
But publicly, it's nothing like the bankruptcy announcement in 2018.
an orderly shutdown
This is orderly?
I feel like they do a lot of their mass closings on Fridays so my guess is yes there would be an official list
From what I've seen there is no correlation between hiring and store closing status.
Of course there should be correlation. But logic seems to have gone out the window years ago.
That being said, it doesn't look like Westwood is on any of the recent closing list(s).
But it's only a matter of time. You can't run a chain of stores profitably with so many gaps between locations.
I'm afraid that we are just watching an orderly shutdown. That's all.
Should we expect more tomorrow?
@peb+13nnJYeW... Not to argue, but first the jobs listed aren’t seasonal. Also why would a closing store need a full time department supervisor? Who would hire on full time at a store that’s about to close? It sure seems to me this all adds up to westwood lives for another day.
Sorry. It is New Brunswick (not North Brunswick - my bad).
That leaves Hackensack, Rockaway, and Jersey City (but parking is a pain).
Confirmation of the Livingston and New (North)? Brunswick store closures in NJ: https://www.nj.com/business/2020/02/sears-will-close-stores-in-livingston-and-new-brunswick.html
@gxi+13nnJYeW That doesn't really mean anything.
Westwood K-mart has 4 job openings, 3 PT and 1 FT (supervisor type job), so it appears that Westwood lives on to fight another day! So that’s 1 kmart that’s not done yet!
Kmart is supposedly done. 50 Sears stores, which will likely be liquidated after this round is closed. It's just what I heard, but it seems likely.
With what we've heard of closings there already aren't 50 Kmarts left
50 Sears, 50 Kmarts, or 50 of each?
Sears Augusta
Sears Greenville SC
I believe it's true. A manager told me about 50 stores will survive this round of closings. Is it true? We'll soon see. It's obvious it's over as my store is absolutely dead.
