GTM 4.0 - Everything you need to know!

Its coming! GTM 4.0 is coming in Feb 2024, Merry Christmas People's you will be staring down the barrel of yet around redundancy round! I'm a leader in the business and the plans for Feb24 are to cut the workforce even further (Yes, how is it possible!!) and reduce Opex Spending even more! The business has a view that EVERYTHING can go online, and that reducing the sales force is a great strategic move! Along with "Enabling our Partners" to effectively do our jobs and replace us!

GTM 4.0 will be merging multiple sales org's, removing presales (entirely) and relying heavily upon the new GTM strategy of our channel partners!

According to Steve Young jobs are not safe.
We are setting ourselves up for job losses by driving customers online.
The next few quarters will be more cuts.

Push to move all orders to online/frictionless mode is a real 1 of 3 top priorities.for JC. The other two being one global order platform which includes subscription capability and the last being getting off SAP/MyQuotes. All are being sought by end of year. While all cannot be achieved withing the timeframe with singular Dell Digital resource that cannot grow to meet the needs, but the writing is on the wall. May not be Feb 24, but is soon thereafter. JC asks for the sun and then settles for the moon in the stipulated timeline. So still comes out ahead.
How do you interpret the push for 100% online/frictionless transactions and what it means presales, I can say for sure, but where there is smoke, there is fire.
Preparing for a major wfr in Feb and again in August 2024 are very reasonable to expect. New headcount is not getting approved in sales unless the org first shows growth. HC for growth is no longer an option.

Completely removing presales doesn't make sense. Even in a "channel first" strategy, you're going to need support for partners. Most partners are still not going to be "experts" in all things Dell. They're going to need back end support.

@pbl+1ofqkD8V, don't know what you mean to be that high up to know the strategy. I know it just like OP. Either you trust it or not. You are apparently not high up enough to know anything of what is going on.

@mky+1ofqkD8V just because you don't know anything doesn't mean that others don't. Back to your cave.

Reeks of BS. Why on earth would they remove presales? And how high up do you have to be to know the strategy 6 months from now? And if you are that high up, why would you be posting on here?

Yep.. and tons of AI talk.. but yes, this sounds about right.

AI + partners to reduce our direct sellers

This sounds about right. I see the IT changes and online push daily and with the new modifier sales will not be pushing back on the online inevitability anymore, unless they want less pay. Our org (support) is still doing WFR in Sept and many will be let go.

smells fishy like someone that was let go

there is nothing that anyone outside of very few people that certainly do not post here would know what the plan for Feb'24 are and anyone but competition would love to hear the message - so I believe it's from "I was dell but now work for and here I come"

maybe the case for laptops perhaps ... I can't speak to that.

Are there any plans to inform us officially about massive WFR in Feb24? At least a heads up?

Maybe 50 % layoff is the best option
