Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Nepotism in Qualcomm

Nepotism is out of control, qualcomm is routinely hiring and promoting siblings, nieces, nephews, and more recently children of managers, directors and VPs. This isn’t occasional; it’s systemic. It’s ki-ling morale, damaging trust, and sending a clear message: connections matter more than competence.

Not only nepotism, but a bunch of former biotech people hiring their biotech friends.

One summer nearly all the interns at QGOV were related to directors. It's a very incestuous place in addition to being racist and low paying.

Will our gladiator have the ba--s to allow anonymous questions without the filtering of his baby sitter HR? He already delayed by 3 weeks the AHM because he was too scared of facing the employees. Well in his own mind he believes to be a gladiator because he finally grew a beard and he is having his first growth spurt LOL

Qualcomm is infested with Indians and Chinese. If that happens, a company goes down the drain and that's what is happening with Qualcomm. They destroy the culture promoting favoritism and nepotism.

When I worked at the Q, I was told to not to say anything bad or negative about anyone because there were lots of family members and friends working together at the Q. In addition there are lots of cliques at the Q--- which might seem harmless on the surface, but beneath it can be a network of gatekeeping, favoritism, and subtle exclusion that chips away at those who are outside the clique. I was not part of the clique, so I was given the work those in the clique did not want to do.

Q is a jankyard for 3rd world people with 3rd world skills and mentality. Anyone without visa constraints should upskill and move to a better company ASAP. The skills, the manners, the clothes and the smells, all stink.

Not only do new college graduates (who are US citizens) have to worry about nepotism in technology corporations but they also are competing against the 400,000 H1B applicants every year.

"The H-1B has exploded in the past few decades. Around 400,000 visas were approved in 2024, more than twice the number issued in 2000, with the majority of these being renewals of existing visas, rather than new applications. Most of these foreign workers are employed by large tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, who pay to keep hold of foreign-born workers."
