Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

All the finger pointing and bickering on this board, playing into the hands of incompetent ELT

People posting hate posts about DEI, Indians, Asians, etc to blame them for the downfall of Intel are missing one key issue: the exec leadership and BoD has systematically driven the company into the ground to line their pockets up, or at best they're just incredibly incompetent. This is the classic pitfall of modern American institutions: those at the top su-k everything of value out of the system, leaving us minions bickering at each other's throats. You're all trying to make sense of this sh---y mess by cooking up complicated conspiracies about DEI or Indian employees driving the company into the ground, which is what Pat and his inglorious ELT want you to focus on while they empty the coffers

Hiring policy is ELT's leadership. Making every position a PHD so that they can get approval for an immigration visa vs lowering the educational requirement so they could get a domestic engineer or scientist is not being a good community steward.

That being said, nationality is not a blanket indicator of anything. There are good engineers from other countries same as the natives of a country. Being from India doesn't make someone inferior than being from some other place. Same as you and me, if they are the right person and given the tools to succeed then they will succeed.

Look at countries that are the opposite of capitalism. How diverse is their population? What rules do their companies have with regards to minorities?

We really do have a generation of extremely greedy Executives. This would have been palatable had they been capable of building a company where everyone succeeded. As things stand, it's been a one way street

Look into this from the capitalist point of view. We should thank the Indians and the H1B program or Intel would have closed the American based sites a long time ago and located somewhere with cheap labor. I'm not saying I like it, It just is what it is.

Capitalism requires racism to exist. Without racism, nobody would come to work the next day. Capitalism fools you to think that by coming to work and getting exploited, that you are somehow special and still getting more benefits than another category of humans when it can be all taken away by the CEO at anytime.

Those are two separate issues. The ELT being incompetent did get rest the managerial folks to make these “tough” decisions. But are these decisions being made keeping intel’s best interest in mind or their own? it is giving them the liberty to get rid of those they just hate the guts of. I know many hardworking employees whose job role does not allow them to slack also got the boot. These layoffs are not performance based but based on the personal interests of the managers (the ones who are taking advantage of the opportunity).

Excessive DEI and H1B hiring were and still are CEO and ELT decisions. The problems those decisions cause are a direct reflection of the poor leadership decisions and policies.
