Was it skip manager before finance/HR just moved us around? Mgr took VSP so now in workday skip Mgr is our now our Mgr.
First-level manager scores each of thier employees based on capability categories (technical capability, teamwork, etc). HR takes that list and makes cuts based on agreed upon headcounts. The lower your score, the greater the possibility you're gone.

@ouo+1utelGVN - If it's the skip level manager, then they'll just get names from the 1st level manager. Unless the skip manager doesn't like the 1st level, then they'll pick to sabotage the 1st level. Yes, that can hurt the skip level manager but in their mind, they'll have moved up before any fallout on them.
I was a manager at Intel during Act 1 and 2, it was never up to us, HR made the lists.
If there are other folk doing the same job as you, it comes down to capabilities. Who is the best at what you do in your geo, then second, third, and fourth. If you are the sixth or seventh, you should have applied for CPM-AP or ER. Too late now.
If you are the only one in your geo, you might be OK, unless a better one is sitting on a project that will be mothballed. And it is handled by HR, not your line managers.

Unless the project is cut it's a skills assessment. Points with weighted multipliers for different skills/categories. They will count from lowest score and up until they hit the HC/budget number they've been given.

Criteria is simple, old expensive guys first, high cost area first, the guys who does not have party first.
