All these goofballs that think they're going to be the next guy with an 8% approval rating and will do anything to make it there. Then when the company screws them over they want to crawl back to the union and be a regular worker again. Forget that. You want to be a manager that's fine but it should be permanent. We got former VP's out here walking on the rocks pretending like they didn't do everything in their power to weaken the unions when they were in charge. What a bunch of knuckleheads.

Yes. “Catches them”. Catches them and they got fired. They brought it upon themselves. Maybe expand your horizons a bit because you can’t see past your nose.

Also yours is not the only craft. Different crafts are tested more aggressively than others and some behavior that crews engage in that they shouldn’t is encourage by management to increase production until another outside manager catches them. Managers go to other yards to fire people. You don’t fire your own people unless they s— or you’re with the big boss.
Maybe expand your horizon a little.
The fact is it’s true. You can joke about it but it’s true. I’ve been in my craft for 26 years and I’ve never seen anyone get fired that didn’t bring it in themselves. Don’t be a goof and refuse to live in reality.

We should encourage craftspeople to become managers and keep them reminded that we all know where they came from, not discourage them by telling them they’re automatically no longer one of us. That said, if they do go on a power trip, and especially if they get people fired for b—s—, then they need their card pulled. The alternative is to only have college kids or the crafts that already think they’re the sh–, and that’s really not good for anyone.

Agree if you leave your craft to be a manager or higher you shouldn't be able to come back to your craft because you got fired or didn't like it. Foreman is one thing but becoming management nope you jump your craft ship you're done. The unions need to grow a pair and say we don't want your union dues have a nice day.
So true! The guys are cool when they work with you then some power makes them think there above you! Then they come back to reality and are cool to you. Always remember everyone puts there pants on one leg at a time. Some guys just don’t get it.
