Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Honestly the new hybrid program is fair

If you are psg 26+ you should be doing the type of collaborative work where M-TH is required.

Let the rest of the folks come in three days a week.

I say this as a PSG 26 who would prefer wfh personally.

This new change bringing back PSG 26+ four days a week is a white wash. Those people spend half their time out of the office so how can they actually be there four days. They'll be WFH while others below them will be forced back into the office.

Collaborate with whom? There will be barely anyone in the office. And who will they be mentoring. This is just a first step to requiring everyone back to the office full time.

@amm, That's a big deal for you? Showing up for a normal job and reporting? Been doing it all of my life.
No worries mate. You'll get over it.

Just wait till your manager makes your Monday meeting, mandatory in person.

Work from home was always a psyop. Like CONVID. Like all good psyops, once the objective is achieved, (harvesting all your habits and workflows through team sto train AI) they will either return you to normal wage slave status or bin you off. Only two options for 2026. Sacked or 5-6 days a week.

They're making some of the people show up and actually do work but not others? Well that sure bites. I would hate to be one of the people who actually has to show up and work. I would prefer being able to stay home and do whatever I want most of the time and still get paid. What's so bad about that?

Give me PSG 26, and I will gladly come skipping into work on weekends. Right now, I'm WFH on weekends. Bunch of d-bags, I've been stuck in my Sub PSG 26 since time immemorial.

This is such obvious BS. Why would only the 26s be required to come in? Makes zero sense.

My hypothesis is that June 1st is when 26+ are in place. The slots lower will probably be required to come in four days a week when they have been selected, etc.

The program itself is fair, the way that Chevron management will communicate it / roll it out / justify it will not be. They will gaslight everyone into thinking this is a data driven approach when they clearly have seen employee morale is in the toilet and ignore previous surveys where everyone was clamoring for full remote work. They have spent a year telling you hybrid works and now they'll make functions working across time zones to come in an extra day solely because upper management doesn't know how to manage people unless they have eyes on them.
