Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

Terrible atmosphere

There are many of you who have been here much longer than I have, so I'm wondering, has the atmosphere ever been worse than it is now? I have no motivation for work at all.

@ihrh, Trust me. It can go MUCH lower. I am not a fortune teller but I predict that PS will further delay FY22 bonus to Sept, which is just laughable at this point. He should just apologize and cancel it since even my 4 year nephew knows that it's not coming.

What irritates me the most is that PS is trying to justify and pin blame this mess on "unforeseen market turmoil" "inflation" "increasing rate" "alien invasion" "covid-23".

Really? While the entire planet was getting ready for inflation and even big techs were preparing for the downturn and laying off by thousands, YOU were busy buying d-mb startup companies for projects that will not even be profitable in million years.

Check Synamedia's 2019-2022 balance sheet (it's public record published on UK gov website) and you can tell how quick the company went from slightly profitable to losing money to nearly bankrupt in 3 years. And we all know when loser CFO and PS took over, yup you guessed it. 2019 and 2020.

Also a long-timer grey-hair bitter burnt out employee :)
I think now is the low point. Will they pull a rabbit from the hat at the next Cynicmeet ? Probably not.

How low can you go ?

@ooz, Synamedia has $296m debt (on a floating interest rate) that they have been desperately trying to refi. Why do you think that CFO dude found another job and bounced after holding YOUR bonus hostage for 6+ months?

I’ve been working in one of the UK offices for 20years, undoubtedly morale is at an all time low. The talent drain has been exhausting. Some of the mangers that are now in charge by default is laughable.
It’s a slow painful death of a once great place to work.

private equity took over in 2018 when bought from Cisco. private equity is a 3 to 5 year maximum returns game. Do the maths . This turkey is done. How much debt I wonder ?
