Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

The Remote Work Revolution

Please tell me why a remote working company is requiring their staff to go back to the office? It literally makes no sense, especially since people all over the world have successfully worked and collaborated remotely since the beginning of the pandemic. Especially since a majority of Citrites want remote work (54% prefer a hybrid work environment, 40% prefer a remote work, only 4% prefer fully in-office, and 2% other - based on internal Citrix survey from May 2021). This decision essentially shows the public that their own product is useless - great marketing. The new CEO must be “strategically” implementing this policy to force people to quit since Citrix can’t afford to pay severance to their upcoming layoffs (unless they finance it). Citrites should stand up for remote work and not just go along with this contradictory policy. Citrix can’t implement a policy if a majority revolt and won’t follow it. To The Remote Work Revolution! Let’s go!

What customers? They are all leaving, too...

NewCo is refusing to eat its own dog food.
Hypocrisy! Customers should write emails to TK ridiculing his move.

"The NewCo platform justifies the merger on the basis of supporting organisations to carry on their businesses in hybrid mode (among other things), with solutions to allow their customers workforce to do their best work remotely, using virtual desktop technology, etc. But it can’t get its own operations to be done in such way. It’s ludicrous to say the least."

Do it as I say, not as I do.

If you are in the office, HR can come past and tap you on the shoulder for "exiting" meeting, all your assets are in the office and easy to hand over (no courier pick up required). Easiest way to exit stafff, call a group in at a time, hand them their papers, nothing needs to emailed/scanned, collect the assets, remove badge .... gone within the hour!!!!

@zjc+1iOHgaPq - Your post doesn't come across as anyone that works in Citrix. Weird that someone not in Citrix would be posting here.

LOL, collaboration. Let's see: I can sit at home and be in a Zoom meeting, or I can sit at a desk and be in a Zoom meeting (after wasting an hour and $$ commuting.) I can sit at home and code, or sit at a desk and code (after wasting an hour and $$ commuting.)

It's all BS lies. They don't believe you are actually working from home, that's why they want you in the office - to keep an eye on you while they prepare to fire you.

Those of you still in your pajamas. Time to wake up, put on your shorts or pants and start driving into the office. You are not seeing how being isolated has started to atrophy your collaboration and innovation muscles!

It will be fun when the folks excited to be back in the office realize that those of us who don't want to be were actually getting a lot of work done, and they have to pick up the slack when we've moved on to greener pastures.

It was fun while it lasted. Bye!

Exactly. I don’t understand all these negative comments towards the company lately. It’s not like you’re being forced to work here. If you’re not happy, then leave. Some of us enjoy working here and are excited to be back in the office

"Why should 94% of Citrites have to “suck it up” when only 4% prefer to be fully in-office?"

Because none of them are CEO. Seriously guys, if you don't like your job, just quit.

Stop cryin'. You either suck it up and go into the office like everyone used to or leave. Simple as that.

It’s a device to get people to quit or be able to fire them without severance. Citrix/Tibco is centered on an operating model that eliminates any and all unnecessary cost. If Krause can wring out some of the hefty severance packages he’s faced with paying out — it provides some relief to his already beleaguered cash flow. He doesn’t care where people work, this is only posturing to create a desired financial result.
