Any updates on where we are with the orange cwa agreement? Curious to know what the actual issues holding the agreement up are and the likliehood of management being deployed to cover walk-out areas is...

The old Trust the Company argument, whats next trickle down economics that supports Randy making $78,000 every single day of the year?
The union is what we make it, not perfect but certainly our best option as working people, unless you are a s--- up who wants to be in management and bully people around.
I hope people choose to put their jobs first and not the union, we are not in the 1930s anymore people. Go to work, do your best and if you are so unhappy with your job/benefits I'm sure finding better or equal benefits job can't be that hard. Also think about this, why is it that Silicon Valley and unions aren't best friends? The most evolving industry and the most opposing group to technology. Innovation, growth, and individually becomes stagnant when we behave like robots behind union protection in 2017. Now productivity?! Oh great idea people, stop showing up for work to make a stand.
Unions nowadays only paralyze growth, it's extremely annoying flying into D.C and not able to use my phone to request uber while I get my luggage, then use a safe platform to pay my uber driver without handing him/her my credit card. Now I have to stand outside at the taxi line for a smelly car and hand the driver my card which he uses an old school machine to take a carbon copy of my credit card. Then if he is rude or a terrible driver I don't have a platform to leave feedback for future passengers. Oh and if I am jerk, he can't give me a rate either. That kills the value of feedback. When I ask why can't I uber from the airport....the answer is because the union is fighting. Fighting what?! Technology sounds like it to me.
Haha, loser who said "winners stay inside selling dtv's and laughing" is a d**che. Probably one of those asm's who stands around on the floor all day doing nothing with iPad in hand.
Check CWAs website. It will give you a breakdown of what they are fighting for
They're striking in ~35 states under the Orange contract.
Just remember, losers waddle around outside in 90 degree heat, making 0 money.
Winners stay inside selling DTVs and laughing at the losers outside. And no, you may not use the bathroom.
Where are they striking?
Travel is booked. Heading to my temp destination in the morning. I think all of us have been thrown for a loop. Apparently it's the first time things between cwa and mobility have come to this serious of a stand off. Kudos to the people holding their ground for what's right.
Got notice of a 3 day strike happening...but att is changing store hours for the weekend...closing at 6pm tomorrow. 10-6 on saturday and closed on sunday..
My asks are being shipped off to other locations tomorrow. They've spent hours today booking flights, etc.
I can tell you as a deployable 2nd level manager with a wireline assignment, I have not received any communication from the Company or my "Strike" manager.
Telling the company the duration of the strike steals most of its thunder and seems the company isn't feeling threatened by this impending strike.
Yeah. I've been on several calls and received a bunch of emails stating the same thing. Just curious to know if there is anyone with legit info about the talks that are happening. I know how much upper leadership has a tendency to minimize significant issues with their downline...
hashtag #hype it lit boys. I know where and when you are
Wondering the same thing. DOS told managers to cancel any weekend plans and be ready to ship out on moments notice. No one actually knows why the CWA is threatening to strike...
