Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

Can We Please Fire Schroeter?

Why do we need to be limited by this man who was practically fired from IBM in 2020? He looks and acts drunk during meetings, and is a total jerk to people around the office. He has a reputation for cooking the books and accounting tricks. He is the least inspiring CEO I've ever worked with.

@OP “He has a reputation for cooking the books and accounting tricks.“

With today’s news, perhaps this is true

A number of things led to Martin being CEO of Kyndryl.
(1) Arvind announced as next CEO of IBM in January 2020 and takes over in April 2020
(2) Ginni gives up IBM Chairman, President and CEO titles in April 2020
(3) Whitehurst becomes IBM President in April 2020
(4) Martin retires from IBM as SVP, Global Markets in April 2020
(5) Ginni retires from IBM as Executive Chairman of the Board in December 2020
(6) Martin named CEO of "NewCo" that became Kyndryl in January 2021
(7) Whitehurst leaves IBM in July 2021
(8) IBM completes the separation of its managed infrastructure services business to Kyndryl in November 2021
(9) Kyndryl begins trading as an independent company on the NYSE in November 2021

He's probably only got a few years left anyway. He's almost at the IBM retirement age.

There is no way IBM was considering him for the position of CEO. They tossed him to global services years ago, and nobody would vote for him because who cares about the president of a sluggish unprofitable dying sector? IBM knew for a long time that Kyndryl would be spun off because they wanted to end their unprofitable contracts without getting sued, so they gave Schroetea viking's funeral by sending him off on a burning ship.

But Martin retired almost a year before Arvind was announced. I saw the documents, and Schroeter was not a candidate for CEO before stakeholders.

Setting the record straight. Martin was not practically fired from IBM. As some may recall, he was CFO and the head of Global Markets. When the Boatd was picking the next CEO. It was rumored that Martin and Arvind were the finalists. The Board chose Arvind. So Martin retired.
