does anybody know the severance package for those impacted in Europe?
@xcb+1kCF3x6h the packages I have heard from known sources include all restricted RSU converted shares 2023 and 2024.
The severance is incredibly generous if you have any tenure at the company. Significantly higher than companies like Twitter and Amazon.

Really? even shares that are a year or more out from vesting? or just this year.
If it is "ALL" your RSUs that is very different from "this year's" or "the next 3 months vesting"
base payout is based on your salary.
you then get to additional weeks for every year of service plus all RSU vested

It isn't Tibco who is firing. TK has been cutting Tibco staff since August (marketing; HR; etc) and continues to send out notices to Tibco staff. Vista has decided a new strategy and TK is implementing it. If Citrix (or Tibco) was a great company, they wouldn't have been bought by a PE firm to take apart.
It is not Citrix who fired, or trying to fire us, Citrix was a great company, it is Tibco, or TK who made these things happen

being in a position where you hold an H1B visa, have a family with two kids, a spouse who doesn't work, possibly a mortgage and no US citizenship, can be quite challenging in the event of a layoff. I can assure that it looks like a common scenario and not an exceptional one. With only a limited time frame of a month (I think) or less to find a new job before potentially having to return to your home country, and the current job market being what it is, this could prove to be a significant obstacle and a major life change....
I didn't say layoffs aren't a big deal, but it's not life-or-death. Some people make it sound as if this is the only job they've ever had and there is no hope of getting another one. It's pretty clear that CSG is going to decimate the population, so odds aren't good for most people. Nobody needs "prayers", just a plan. I will be fine one way or another.
It should be noted that there are probably more than a few people that will be affected today where Citrix may be their first or second real job. To them, it is scary, especially in this economic climate as we're sitting in the early stages of recession and a highly competitive job market. Not everyone being laid off is a director or a senior developer with 20 years of experience and professional networking to fall back on.

What are you here? For someone who thinks layoffs are not a big deal and it’s just a cr---y company, it begs the question: why are you here then? Scared too? Or just a keyboard cowboy?

Could we please be less melodramatic? "Praying for all." Unless you have a deadly disease, let's keep a little perspective. It's just a job, at a cr#ppy company under a cr#ppy CEO. Has anyone here ever had another job??
