Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Use all your sick days

Sick days do not carry over to 2025. Use all your sick days by 12/31. Remember the executives “care” nothing for the teammates and are only looking out for themselves. Ensure you look out for yourself by using all your sick days.

Companies have already factored in an employee’s time off in terms of budget and profitability. Employees should absolutely use all of their vacation and sick days. If not, they are getting ripped off and exploited by the company.

And sick leave is relative. Could be a headache, insomnia, upset stomach, mental health issues, etc.

I always tell my team to take their full bene’s; it’s part of compensation. You wouldn’t deny yourself pension benefits, or insurance benefits, or 401k match, or volunteer for a pay cut…. Why leave time off unused? That said, the bilkers are maddening! Funny how many problem get sick for exactly the number of days they’re given…..

Using your benefits is always the right move. Take all your m/paternity, sick, vacation, wellness days, use every dollar they give you. The company will profit off your either way, and the people who think work matters or somehow is a point of pride will get over it even while they whine that you have something to live for besides being exploited by companies.

I know a manager who has taken 2 separate 30 day sabbatical paternity leave in 3 year span. Nothing like bilking the system. Unreal. I get 5 days, but 30? Lol

I never used sick days before covid and left them on the table countless times. Now I use them as harassment free days, mental health days, save the planet from pollution days or save wear and tear on my car days.

@jin+1vNjo7IJ - Can easily land a job at another company. Have done it several times before. Just haven’t put serious effort in as waiting on the right time.

Funny enough everyone on your team has asked me if you are autistic or “on the spectrum”. Just know that’s how you come across. A straight up socially inept weirdo.

If it’s being sold it will be great just like if it isn’t - I just don’t let this consume my thoughts unlike others - I ca. get another job my guess is the serial posters can’t land jobs at other firms

@xqg+1vNjo7IJ - I work very hard. This is what happens when employees are not appreciated or given opportunities for career growth. People get tired of the monotony over the years and are ready for a change. I’ll be gone come first week of April. You’ll have plenty to worry about as Truist will be acquired in 2025 and your job is a prime candidate for a layoff.

I don't know what you are smoking. The sick day policy at Truist is probably the best I've seen in decades of being in the workforce, and yes the do not carry over but you get a whole new set of days in the new year. Truist has it warts but this is not one of them.

Yes I would not have any self worth and work hard - the good news is your teammates notice and it only hurts yourself - a new job will get you to a better place - find one fast and get TFC out of your head

Always use all your benefits, you owe nothing to the company beyond the minimum of what you're paid for. Don't volunteer anything for free.
