Uhmmm, this is the new private brand we're launching in August? Really? Just got several racks and folded programs in all I can say is, well, "If you ain't got nothing nice to say aboit it, then just mind your p's and q's". What is this company thinking? A "Miracle on 34th Street" ? Haha, you see what I did there?!

Bye bye ON 34TH. CEO TONY SPRING DISCONTINUED THIS PROGRAM it never sold till it went to last act. But lately have seen CECE ON 34TH & INC at (tjmax. Marshall & ross stores at 1/3 the price.
Hope all the people (buyers) who brought on 34th to stores got FIRED!!!!!
Macys also drastically changed (not for the better) my favorite IDEOLOGY brand. Ideology used to have coordinated sport outfits, leggings, tops, light sport jackets in interesting colors. They still have the brand but it’s pretty much worthless with atrocious styles, boring colors. Def a huge step backwards.
Before they totally gutted the nice coordinated styles , they changed a perfectly cut tee into a way too long “old lady tee”. Macys mistake…
After I git the shock that Karen Scott was discontinued, I scooped up whatever I found in The Last Act. I bought a couple of Style & Co. which were nice, but more expensive. I don’t shop Macy’s anymore. No Karen Scott.
I am also SO DISAPPOINTED that they have discontinued the Karen Scott brand, I have been buying these mock turtle necks and shirts for as long as I can remember. I hope that the overpaid CEOs learn from this terrible mistake as many loyal customers, like myself, will have to look somewhere else for a substitute to our beloved Karen Scott brand. SAD!!
My trusted old Macy's is a disaster! Spent an exhausting 2 hours roaming around strange new womens clothing areas mourning the demise of Karen Scott and Charter Club. Pushing my way through last chance sales racks I discovered a huge area of promising clothing which, unfortunately, is marked plus sizing. Guess I will have to gain weight to find a quite, less crowded and less junkie area of Macy's to shop comfortably. The store, alas, resembles a thrift shop. Only the dressing rooms have kept some attractiveness.
this is the problem with all CEO'S They ra-e the company they were for and then it eventually dies. They are not worth the money their name is written on,
Macy's is making a HUGE mistake. I can see they are being led by young CEOs who are trying to hit a younger market of shoppers but cutting the hand that keeps them alive ...the middle aged. Good luck you'll be history soon Luke Kaufman s.
I have been buying Karen Scott clothes for year and years. I don’t want it to be mixed in with other brands. Then I won’t know which brand I’m getting. I could go to the Karen Scott section and just pick up a shirt or clothes in my size and I didn’t have to try them on. They a they always fit perfectly. Plus I love their style and feel. I am so disappointed that this has been discontinued. Please consider bringing this brand back.
I worked at Macy’s for several years before 2016. What I experienced during my time there was hard working, overworked, underpaid, good loyal department managers and clueless overpaid executives and CEO’s. The company would pay lots of money for stupid “sales training” for associates that treated us like we were in kindergarten. Some associates had worked there for decades and were great at their jobs. The pay was lousy. The expectations on performance were high and if you met your goals the pay raise you earned was pitiful. Like 25 cents or less. Very little regard or respect from executive higher ups who were getting paid astronomical salaries. Those same executives are the ones making the totally misguided decisions last this latest one of changing and discontinuing brands that customers relied on. Karen Scott was a good, affordable product that shoppers liked. Shoppers HATE when you move the merchandise around. Shoppers HATE when you discontinue brands. Any floor associate could tell you that. The problem is the decision makers live in another world. They don’t even shop at Macy’s .They live in another world. Look up how much the CEO makes. He’s not a customer. The upper management has no clue who the customers are or what they want. Thus ANOTHER rebranding that loyal customers will hate. Farewell Macy’s you don’t have a clue.
Our On 34th jewelry is hanging on full towers, minimal sales. Just waiting for markdowns to show up and having to find Last Act space for all the On 34th jewelry.
I have been shopping at Macy’s for as long as I can remember! I HATE the “New Concept “ changes. Karen Scott pull on drawstring pants were perfect size in Petite/ petite and the Style and company were HUGE, stiff, and very long. I really feel that Macy’s has made a grave error in judgment in their attempt at rebranding, and the dissolving of a once WONDERFUL store has only just begun.
1999 called they want the gap back...
I looked at several of the on line reviews for On 34th. Most of them include the disclaimer: "Received Free Product Yes"
This is how women shop at Macy’s. They shop by price and often end up in the Last Act section. On 34th is ridiculously overpriced. Most women will wait until it goes to Last Act.
Just perused the new merchandise under the 34th street label: This is what Macys hopes will save the bottom line? Two years of surveys, questionaires and "following women around as they shop" designed "by women for women" This??? This is what the company comes up with?? OMG. Cheap. Awful. Unflattering. Shapeless.
You think the pandemic accelerated online shopping and hurt brick and mortar stores- this new line will only accelerate customers to shop elsewhere.
Why not address the real problems facing our company: bad management filled with "yes" people, grossly overworked dwindling staff and lack of a real plan to turn things around. All of you should view the new line on Macys.com and then go to insite to read the company press release to business publications about the rollout. Unbelievable.
So we put out the new line.
I actually like some of the designs and bought a top.
But oh my goodness a lot of the fabric is awful.
To be fair, Alfani had way too much merchandise (pre-COVID) and most of it ended up on clearance. While the the brand did have some nice pieces, a lot of it was overpriced. We've now whittled down to dull trousers, skinny leg pants, and the ugly tops. Thank goodness it's going away. Too much duplication with the other in-house brands.
As for Karen Scott, I won't miss those sweaters/cardigans that all looked the same.
Karen Scott items will go to Style and Co. Alfani double loop trousers will go to INC. I think the Alfani stretchy pull on pants will move to JM....they look just like them.I think Charter is going to Style and Co. There is a Visual packet that shows what styles/items are moving to a different brand. The idea is to stop duplication. We have the same pa-ties in Jenni and Charter Club! Jenni is going away as well, at some point. Like Jenni leggings...why we'd need that when you can just buy Active!
This is not going to go over well in my store. We have alot of older shoppers who like Karen Scott and Alfani. I thought they were supposed to keep business wear in the collection but I didn't see any dress pants. If you need a sequined mini skirt we've got you covered. WE'RE DOOMED!!!
It's a good thing that we aren't getting much of this merchandise in this week, it looks like our support hours have been cut way back and we will have just enough people working to keep up with the regular workload and place this merchandise on the floor. Still waiting on our walls to get painted.
Should I buy the ruffled midi skirt or the polka dot trench coat? Perhaps My Stylist can help me own my style...
Interesting that the PB leader is from Target and the clothing is Target…….
Some items say if purchased online must be returned to the vendor by mail only and can’t be returned at Macys. What are they trying to do to us? Marketplace returns take forever and sometimes don’t work. And now this.
The new brand is on .com as we speak.
"On 34th" is supposed to replace Charter Club, Alfani, Karen Scott, and Jenni? So many long time customers are going to have a hard time understanding the change and given the economic outlook, we shouldn't expect to see anywhere near the inventory levels needed to even come close to replacing the void the exit of these brands have left in our store. We have had a huge empty spot on our RTW floor for most of the month and we only have enough new brand goods coming next week to fill the wall and about four fixtures, when we have room for at least 24 fixtures if we spread them way out.
Just what we need, another two months of customers asking us if we are going out of business interspersed with a constant barrage of people asking where they can find the brands we have exited. Jobs are currently placed on hold, hours are less than they have been all year, there is no longer a willingness to listen to request for out of cycle increases when key leaders and colleagues are being actively recruited by the competition, and an upcoming visit with Jeff and Mark and our DVP and MVP visiting constantly freaking everyone out. Fun times leading into the fall season, expect it will be the last one for a lot of the long time folks who just can't take it any longer.
I have bad flashbacks, that song played a lot in my store.
Is Macy’s partnering up with Dua Lipa for Project Starlight , star bright ?
Hmm….I’m not an expert ,only a long time Macys employee. My thought is….once again Macys will continue to cut or not invest money in people/staffing in order to build competent leaders, sales teams or support teams that are equipped to offer customer service. Instead ….they’ll spend millions eliminating and renaming private brands that our customers were loyal to…..while moving selling floors around…..to confuse them. Of course there will be no associates on the floor to direct them to where product has moved or what new labels are…. In my store…….I just continue to see the complete deterioration of intelligent , experienced ,talented leaders/management. No one to train, hold accountable or inspire new employees. But this is not a problem the company seems to acknowledge…..instead……they rename private brands and swirl the selling floors. Investing in people must be too expensive.
I recently called HR services to try and get answers to important questions regarding my long service. After getting through….a pleasant woman gave me very inaccurate information. I just thanked her and did more research to get accurate info. Later I thought ….of course it’s Macys. Why would I get an accurate answer from HR services. This phone answering person is most likely working in a short staffed department and has not been trained or have a good supervisor to ask. Oh well …I thought that’s Macys. …..and that’s what we’ve come to accept, no service for customers or employees. Meanwhile let’s just rename brands and swirl selling floors because some senior executives have an abstract idea.
More sweatshop junk?
RIP Charter Club, Alfani, Karen Scott, and Jenni
Hmm. I’m so curious on what brand it is. I might have to go to the dock and see if we have it in back.
And Now This companion, And Then What
Is this a "who's on first?" thing? What is the name of the brand?! :p
….I actually liked the few pieces I’ve seen. The tees are super soft
My store hasn't recieved this, but found out about the name today! LOL yep, that name..... cringe! LOL
