@ny+1jtsj3hrk the way you put is as if there were any talent at NEX in lower levels. There's not. It's the most pathetic group I've worked with in 15+ years at Intel.

PE = Pathetic Engineer.
If I look at the PEs and Sr PEs in NEX I wonder no more why NEX is in the position it is. And now inheriting the AI cloud folks i am sure there will be more of them incoming

PE is good for getting free cake from your manager.

Yes promote the people who kiss a-s and have no technical chops. Principal title was meant for folks who were masters of the field but now it's more of who you know more and how much you speak to pretend

Poor Engineers process is a good way to corrupt a good company to bankruptcy.
Poor Engineers are usually promoted to higher grade for their stupidities for political reasons.
Poor Engineers are only good at their company but nobody else wants to hire them.

From an outsider’s observations of this website, Intel seems deserve to fail from these obnoxious postings.

Yup. 100% correct. If anything the modern PE title is an identifier of an a-s kisser and someone who definitely has thrown their peers and friends under the bus for their own personal benefit. It should be treated as a badge of someone you can’t full trust

PE/SPE is not a title that shows technical competency. It shows how political the engineer is and how much they can follow process. It's a good ol boy network that only promotes the bootlickers.

Professional Embellisher. The PE’s are grade 10+ doing the work that grade 8 and 9’s can mostly do. Overpaid and underdeliver. That’s the Intel PE. Just a drain on the payroll.

I don't believe OP really needs to PE

It’s lost its prestige in last decade. Sure definitely benefits for you to personally obtain. Increase in salary, etc. But it has lost its true status it once held. And as someone else pointed out outside of Intel it is meaningless. Those outside of Intel who are savy to inner workings on Intel even look down it as fraudulent

The bad: massive time sink. Whether is you or your manager writing the package, it takes a lot of time. A LOT.
The good: if you really are PE level, it's very rewarding. You get recognized by some very smart folks.

Look around at the PEs you know, most are absolute id--ts who just got the title by the virtue of staying at Intel for so long. TD is absolutely filled with braindead leeches under the guise of PEs. It’s a joke
