Thread regarding SAP layoffs

You are nothing but a number to them

You're not safe, you're not respected, and you're not seen as a person... The sooner you realize that the better off you'll be. There are better companies out there that'll treat you much better than SAP. I know. I left six months ago and I never looked back. The grass is definitely greener on the outside.

@nnp I don't miss SAP but I do miss my old coworkers. They were all good people, which is why I thought I'd share my experience here. You can take it or leave it.

Yes, you are a number to them. In fact, you are typing in that number every time you log on. It starts with an i.
And every large enterprise is like that, especially once it is publicly listed.

I’m loving my new job! I’m so grateful that I was RIFd! I have a giant stack of money and was only out of work for 6 weeks! I make more than I did before and I think smaller companies are simply easier to manage. My new boss is amazing and I wake up eager and excited every day. There’s no requirement to work from the office. We are taking a family cruise around the Mediterranean with the money, and there’s plenty left over so hiring contractors to complete some serious remodelling and updating of our house plus a brand new garden! I really cannot believe how wonderfully it all worked out!

Good to hear you've found some greener grass. What you're missing? eh manager referred to employees being "just monkeys pushing buttons" on a call about some of their AI endeavors recently, being seen as a number might be an improvement!

You seem to still miss SAP when you have nothing better to do than posting about it after leaving SAP. Sorry mate, I dont get these kind of posts. All companies are very much the same in this respect. The better ones give you a severance package in case stackholder value needs to be pumped up, the worse try to get rid of you without paying anything. We all know it and accept it when signing a contract.
