Thread regarding McKesson Corp. layoffs

Change Healthcare Layoffs in early May

Leadership and middle management from MHS mostly. With some hits to QA organization across previous MHS. Employees notified end of April and announcements to larger group on May.

Anyone know how many left in Newton office?

So after many years I was part of the May RIF. Still trying to absorb why? I was told my 'position is being eliminated' but the same day someone was moved into my position. Not sure how that works. I agree that people have stopped caring. Why should management make all the money then get 30% MIPS when the leave the work to those remaining. It seems we are going back to everyone is at least a Director or above. Hammergren could give up 10% of his salary and save hundreds of people.

This was the 5th round of layoffs in the Weston office. Welcome to the Change Healthcare culture. We were part of their Altegra acquisition and nothing positive came of the deal for anyone but a select few executives who congratulate themselves on all their deal making while shredding the businesses we built and destroying our ability to deliver on promises to clients.

Legacy apps has been hit pretty hard by layoffs in May. Some of the cuts were of employees who held irreplaceable knowledge, and have put a great burden on those of us left behind. Upper Management are cheerleaders, expecting that we will buy in to the usual post-layoff rhetoric. I started with McK back when integrity still mattered. With Change Healthcare, it feels like a typical software sweatshop - knock it out fast and cheap. Creative solutions and exceptional customer support used to be valued, and employees were treated respectfully, as important contributors to the success of the company. This is not the company I was once proud to represent. We are like frogs in boiling water, not noticing the heat is being turned up until it's too late to jump. More work, fewer bodies, and no recognition of personal performance. Those of us who used to put in extra hours and effort are now just going through the motions. It's a good market for IT right now. Time to find a company looking for more than a warm body.

What part of the company was this announced for?

Fridays announcement was to let employees know that They will start out sourcing jobs for customer service to the Phillippines. Just for "some clients". I think we all know what that means...

If you miss every target and can't come up with any positive solutions then hack away at the biggest cost to an organization..it's talent. Change just wants the data and the customer base. At least I figured out that was about to get wacked

Reading this thread just makes me so sad. The layoffs seem to be never-ending, and these companies (Mck and Change) seem to be getting even more heartless in their RIFs. This is the worst kind of corporate culture and it's shocking that our customers consider anything related to McKesson to still be a viable alternative. It makes one wonder what kind of deals are being made in the back rooms.

This leadership is comprised of nothing but back-stabbing opportunists. May they all rot.

10 layoffs in Pittsburgh office, then after group meetings we were told no other layoffs. The Next day 2 more were let go?? More outsourcing to India, and another area work was sent to Clearwater?? I don't trust them, I think they were worried about mass walk out?? Moon Twp office also had lay offs but don't know the number. I think this is just the begining.... I think we will see a lot more let go before this is over.

For the person that mentioned CXT. It's going to get worse. They have started outsourcing our work to a firm in the Philippines (UST Global). We're training them how to do our work. Pretty much cannibalizing ourselves but management tells us they're only around to take some of the work off of our plates. You be the judge.

I used to love McKesson. I looked forward to work and impact I could make with my team and customers. The last few months I literally cry in my car at lunch or on the way home. Only for my husband to cheer me up to make the trek in the next day. So sad

10 in Newton. Maybe Change will start making the fat cats in upper management accross the board get out of their offices and be more accountable? Ive never seen a company with so many VPs/AVPs/Directors and Assistant Directors. Its too top heavy and has now impacted those hard workers at the bottom.

The thing that pissed me off was how some were told to work from home and then told in a conference call. That just goes against the culture style they gave been promoting. ICARE? Right!

looks like the leadership team/HR has a leak. The only person that would have that info regarding the corporate message and impacted people would be in the know. @snippet that's bold of you to post......... #mole

While this effort is creating opportunities for some team members to move into new roles and advance in their careers, it also unfortunately means eliminations of some open, planned, and current jobs. As part of this process, we are eliminating 394 current roles and 89 open positions across the company.

2 employees laid off in a Newtown office? TWO? Are you serious? so is that like .002% of the workforce there? You mean they could not lower the thermostat a couple degrees to save those two souls? shame on the Hammer

I was part of the RIF in October and got the standard 2 weeks per year and 1 month of insurance. What are these people smoking?

This is a joke. They would never give that kind of severence - 3 weeks per year of service with no cap. Ha. This person is obviously not informed at all. 12 months of healthcare. This will never happen.

I heard the plan is to eliminate incentives, staff and get to break even by IPO. Look for good solid Voluntary Packages in Summer. Hearing it may be 3 weeks for every year of service (choice of one time payout or split up over two calendar years. 50/50, 30/70 etc) , plus 12 months of healthcare.

@MKuLbXl-3ilk: A wise employee would observe what's happening in other divisions and recognize that the approaches being used there (H1B abuse and offshoring) will be utilized throughout the corporation once it's been shown to 'work' (maximizing profit at the expense of American employees, product quality and patient safety). Mene mene tekel upharsin: The writing is on the wall.
