Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Gas Prices and RTO

With the average cost of gas is $3.32/gal , and no end in sight with the war with Iran, will the RTO be loosen especially when gas prices continue to skyrocket the longer we stay in the war? We’ll soon be losing money just to go into the office to sit in our cubes on teams calls.

I just paid $4.59 a gallon. WTF Medtronic. Why are you still making us go back to the office just so I can sit in Teams calls.

@18n

Current gas price, according to AAA, is $4.23 a gal. So using your math, 16 gallon tank totally full will be $67.68. So, that's an $25.44 increase since 2 months ago.

What a time to be alive where I have to use my Recognize points to help pay for my gas so that I can go to the office to hit my RTO metric. The 2% pay bump will barely make a dent in ours gas budget.

Well, its $4.14 per gallon on average. So much winning with RTO

Well it’s $4.01 a gal of gas on average. Not only we are going through a layoff, the ones that survive will have to drive to work to do the jobs of multiple people without a raise.

@18n

The average gas price is $3.99. Based on your math, it will now cost $63.84 for a 16 gallon tank. That’s up $21.84 from when you said gas was $2.64/ gal.

We’re losing money by going to the office.

Whelp, the average cost of gas is $3.91. It was $3.72 three days ago. RTO is costing us money. Soon, we will be using our MIP to go to the office. Nice

In the past week, the average price of gasoline increased from $3.45 on March 9 to $3.72 on March 16. That’s about 7% increase. The cost of food will go up because of the more expensive gas prices. There goes my 2% pay bump.

Please. Even if gas went up to 10 dollars a gallon we are talking about and effect of $50 a week. This is a joke. You aren’t this poor unless you are a janitor at Medtronic.

@ng And if you are so productive working from home, why are you here posting? Chop-chop. Go and get in your 4 hours before you punch out for your lunch break.

@ne If you are so euphoric about no longer being with Medtronic, why are you spending your time on a discussion board about Medtronic? Kinda creepy, like stalking the ex you just broke up with…..

This is about as d-mb as the poster who said Memphis traffic was too dangerous to commute into the office.

Returning to wfh would not only help the people working g from home, if implemented across corporate America again it would reduce gas prices to below their Iran war levels.

Kindly continue to commute as has been done for 100 years. COVID is over. When you accept a position you factor in distance and cost and issues such as family care. Gas prices have gone up and down most every year. No more sniveling. Home is for family matters, family ties, and the View. The office is where collaborative efforts are achieved.

Whelp there goes our MIP. Shipping costs are going to eat away from Medtronic’s profits on top of the tariffs.
